Well, I'd like to see it get inside the top 20 (and that way it can at least get a week on AT20...) but HAC is just so much the new CHR these days and it's sad to say that they've moved onto different artists. Realistically, other than Rob Thomas and Gwen Stefani, what other big-time CHR and HAC acts from the 90s can still go top 10 on Hot AC? It's been almost ten years though...most 90s acts aren't still comin out with quality material (or have disbanded) DMB bein one big exception ;D Naw...this is just a track similar to I Did It, Don't Drink The Water, Tripping Billies, etc. IMO (too Alternative for a lot of Hot ACs) Actually almost all his Top 10 HAC hits I think have been second singles (the first released were all kinda Alternative-sounding) Yeah, that's true. And they really hit home on the Hot AC format back in 2001-2002 with a few big hit singles that I still hear on HAC stations to this day. And you're right about the 90s acts. While some have stood the test of time, most have disbanded, many are now on minor record labels (like Sugar Ray, for example).

Still 100+ ahead of #2. This easily has another week in it. I hope it becomes their biggest Triple A hit yet. They need either 2 more weeks or 3.

You are so weird. You are too tired to look up some stats, but you can post on a forum? Makes zero sense. It takes almost no effort to look it up.

Of course. Here I just type what I think. On their charts you actually have to type up a song that appears on the chart for it to show up and I don't feel like doing for 25 weeks worth of charts.

You only care about that small format when your boys are #1 Wait just in defense of AAA here, it's a much bigger format than Rock, and not far behind Alternative San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, and St. Louis all have big Triple A stations, and pretty sure the one in Minneapolis is at the top of its market - New York City has two Triple As, and no Alternative, Active, or Rock So icksnay on the belitting of Triple A

Yeah, but in defense of Rock, it's basically a format that might as well not exist. The stations are too classic-rock oriented to be considered active rock, but not classic enough to be classic rock.
While most Rock stations could be moved to active, some really can't. A few are mostly all classic rock, with the periodic tracks from bands like Nickelback and 3 Doors Down.

^Yeah other thing is pretty sure somethin like 90% of Rock stations are in small markets...Providence RI has one that's always done well, think Philly has one (not sure), but other than that it's almost all rural
Also never understood why they separated from Active Rock...I know the rotations are much lower and the libraries are different, but IMO not any different from Hot AC, comparin stations like WRQX/DC with KUDD/Salt Lake...If they have a Rock and Active Rock might as well have Hot AC and Active Hot AC IMO

^Yeah, most Rock stations are in smaller markets because those markets aren't large enough to have both a classic rock and an active rock. There's a semi-large market that actually had/has two mainstream rock stations, oddly enough. That's Norfolk, VA. I'm not sure about Philly, but if their station is an active rock, it definitely leans towards being mainstream rock.
And I agree, rock stations are so different anyway. Some are very heavy, while others border on alternative (or in my station's case, focus on old school hair metal and stuff).
And are you saying that WRQX would be a Hot AC station because their playlist is so conservative? That's one of my HACs, and I know what you mean.

Yeah IMO the difference between Rock and Active Rock is the same as the difference between HACs like WRQX (power rotation around 45-50x a week and lots of stuff from 80s, 90s) and HACs like KUDD and WKRQ (power rotation 85-90x a week and mostly all currents)

Yeah, I agree completely. I think that within the next couple of years, WRQX will basically fit the mold of an AC station. The fact that AC has been charting songs such as "Makes me Wonder" and "Hot N Cold" the last few years shows that they are quickly becoming the new Hot AC.
Do you agree with that?
