Taylor will be performing this live at the CMA Awards on Wed! Apparently she will be playing the piano and will be accompanied by strings.

This is a nice song and everything but theres so many better choices. I disagree. This is the perfect follow up. It's the perfect song to show off her vocals and is a nice change of pace for her . It might actually be my fav from the album .

Show of her vocals? This also isn't a change of pace either. This is similar in the vein to White Horse, Your Not Sorry, and Should Of Said No, just the lyrics are inverted to where she is the one who wronged the other party. This is by no means a change of pace for her lyrically, as it sounds very similar to her old material. I also don't think there is too much about this that is special production wise. I also agree that there are other songs off the album that are better pop single choices like Better Than Revenge, Sparks Fly, Mean, and Haunted, although they (aside from SF and maybe Mean) may not be the best country-pop choices.

Show of her vocals? I thought her vocal peformance of December on Ellen was more than I would normally expect from her. Her Mine performances have had some shaky vocals. This however is a bit more solid in the vocal department. It may not pack the bunch of let's say Carrie, but she goes far enough to put on a decent performance .

Thanks PA. Vocally, it seemed slightly off at times, but I liked the arrangement. Would have been cool to have drums kick in at the bridge though. And what did she say at the end? Did she say "what"? It made it seem like someone crashed her moment on stage again lol

I need to find a 5.1 audio track so I can turn up the strings though lol

Ughh, I hate it when she acts all "surprised". Bitch knows that she's the hottest thing in Country right now, what were they gonna do? just sit there for there "cash cow"? #iamnothatingjuststatingfacts Taylor doesn't receive standing ovations routinely at country award shows (people seem to be particularly harsh with her live performances and I'm sure she's aware of this), so I am sure the "what?" expression was genuine. Either way I think it's pretty silly people pick apart her reactions when Taylor has stated several times she never assumes anything (in regard to winning awards or success in general). I think people are searching for negativity. Why is it so far-fetched to simply believe she'd actually be surprised by the reaction? How many times has Taylor Swift received a standing ovation at these types of events? Not many.

I think Taylor is just displaying her self awareness right? She's talked recently about how she knows her vocals can be off live. Which I think is a good thing to be conscious of public reaction...and not be in denial or ignorance.
I think that's what happened here. It wasn't a bad performance, but it wasn't that special or out of the ordinary to receive a standing ovation, and I think she realized that.

Pop radio just isn't cool enough to play a 5 minute song, is it?

Anytime Taylor takes the stage she is deserving of a standing ovation. I wouldn't go that far I think that works even better? Now, if they try to touch any part of Enchanted...
