While less-than-stellar, this does seem like the befitting ensuing phase. She was a slighted woman who has managed to attain repossession.

$0.69 on iTunes..... Pon De Replay SOS Unfaithful Shut Up and Drive Russian Roulette Rockstar 101 Not a lot of quality there I wonder if will depart with their hard 69 cents for those trashy songs This is a mediocre mainstream-serving pop album. It does enough to appease the mainstream public and her fans until her inevitable sixth album which hopefully would be more noteworthy. She really is following the rules of mainstream pop divas. #1 Have a big album with true bonafide career defining hits #2 Have a dark and/or "personal" album with flops #3. Have a watered down comeback with super bubblegum pop hits that do well but aren't that massive thats leaves most people going but leaves pop junkies very happy #4 Release an album thats a good middle ground So basically following the template set by Pink, Britney Spears, and Kelly Clarkson so far

Except you're math is wrong. Good Girl Gone Bad isn't a dark or personal album.

#1 - Good Girl Gone Bad #2 - Rated R #3 - Loud #4 - TBA
And even if you thought I meant albums in the order they were released that doesn't apply to Pink, Kelly, or Britney
and Rihanna's albums are
#1 - Music Of The Sun #2 - Girl Like Me #3 - Good Girl Gone Bad #4 - Rated R
So still doesn't apply

"MediaTakeOut.com learned that top execs over at Def Jam are SCARED TO DEATH that Rihanna's new album, LOUD, is set to flop. The label is now estimating that Rih's new record will sell between 150K and 200K units, and then drop off SIGNIFICANTLY after that - struggling to make gold."

The album will 100% go gold, most likely by the end of the year.

For heaven's sake, she has 2 huge hits currently including a #1 and top 3 hit (which is likely to become her biggest hit on hot ac). I think that Rihanna might expand her fanbase a bit this era tbqh .

I don't believe it either but Riri will always be a singles artist. The only album of hers that sold over 2 million was GGGB.

^^It's rediculous how the digital stores can manipulate the price of albums and singles whenever they please. That's one of the reasons I don't participate in legal downloading.
The album is not expected to do well and I totally believe that DEF Jam story. I didn't expect the album to do well, either. Rihanna has been and always will be a singles artists.
I think it also has alot to do with the times. It's not a thriving time for pop diva album sales. Many of the artists have casual listener support with the singles, but don't have the hardcore fans / wider audience that Taylor or Britney has for album sales. Either pop diva's need to market themselves differently, or let go of the whole album concept all together and focas their profit goals more on touring and single sales.

A digital album should be $6.99 and a physical album should be $9.99.

Just an arbitrary observation: I believe Fading sampled an Enya song, One by One, and it's uncredited from what I know.

Diva Rihanna captures her fifth top 10 set with "Loud" coming in at No. 3 with 207,000 -- her best sales week yet. And "Only Girl" is #1 on The Hot 100 The first time EVER the lead single went to #1 after a follow up Looks like she is having a killer week.

^what?? This is one of her best albums. this good stuff wouldnt happen to a bad album. This is a straight pop album. This album shows what straight pop always has been and what it still is. By saying this is a bad album, thats pretty much saying you dont like pop music. LOUD could easily be compared to Circus or The Fame.

Too bad all this is happening to her s**ttiest album. Nope . I find this to be her 2nd best album tied with Rated R. Nothing trumps the epic GGGB era though .
