A CONVERSATION WITH DAVE MATTHEWS AND ROB CAVALLO BENEFITTING THE GRAMMY MUSEUM AND THE GRAMMY FOUNDATION: SEPT. 15TH We are excited to announce that Dave Matthews and producer Rob Cavallo will come together in front of an intimate audience of 200 on Tuesday September 15, 2009 at The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, CA. Dave and Rob will discuss their collaboration on Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King and will field questions from Warehouse members around the world. Members of the Warehouse will have the opportunity to submit their questions for Dave and Rob in advance through the fan association office. All proceeds will benefit The GRAMMY Museum and The GRAMMY Foundation and will be generously matched dollar-for-dollar by DMB's Bama Works Fund. While it doesn't mean anything for sure, them doing this is a great sign of things to come

Really? I don't see that much hype for the Michael Franati/Spearhead track yet. And as for DMB, remember in 2004, Jason Mraz announced The Grammy noms? Everyone expected him to get nommed for Best New Artist and Best Male Vocal at least and he didn't get any! And the term "to get mrazed" was born

It does have this "worldly" feel to it that always seems to get nominated!

DMB not getting nominations? Not at all. They are all over the place. They were used as the highlight artist at the Apple show today. The album got great critic reviews compared to past albums. Certified platinum. Huge Triple A (hahahah ok whatever) hit They are playing Conan and Ellen very soon The tour is huge.... and LeRoi Moore died So they will be getting several rock nominations with very good but not for sure chances at AOTY. They could even get ROTY or SOTY.

If LeRoi got snubbed last year, who knows their odds this year

Oh, and they are also the ESPN/ABC Football band which is HUGE
They licensed 10 songs to be played during every single football game this year. and that includes halftime recaps videos, etc.

So overexposure does not equal awards

Anyways, saying DMB isn't in the running is foolish.

Just sayin, if overexposin themselves is what wins awards, than not only would Beyonce win every award, she would have 50 news one created just for her to win them.
You know its true.

I don't think they are overexposed and I don't think they will win either. I think they will however be nominated in the rock fields and hopefully AOTY.

They must have taken them down. I was reading them this morning. Probably because they're really only meant for the eyes of the Grammy voters. Not to be thrown around the internet

I only glanced through them quickly, but Poker Face was in ROTY and Dance Recording from what I remember. I was wondering if they could pull some strings for her to get nommed for Best New Artist since she was nommed last year, but no such luck. It's too bad really too, otherwises, I'm certain she would have won hand down

The submission process for most of these awards is kind of in vain. Cause only major label artists get nominated and the critically acclaimed VH1 type artists. The rest

The submission process for most of these awards is kind of in vain. Cause only major label artists get nominated and the critically acclaimed VH1 type artists. The rest makes sense...because that avoids stupidity like what happened with GaGa...who should have swept these awards clean...

Nominees to be announced tonight at 9 PM EST! BEP, Sugarland, and Nick Jonas are performing Anyone have any last minute predictions? ----------------------------------- The 2010 Grammy Awards nomination special to air on December 2For the second consecutive year, the Grammy nominees will be announced in a one-hour prime time television special. The 2010 Grammy Awards nomination special, hosted again by LL Cool J, will be televised on Wednesday, December 2 at 9 pm EST on CBS. Scheduled to appear on the nomination special are the Black Eyed Peas, Sugarland, Maxwell, and Nick Jonas & The Administration, a side project for the youngest Jonas brother. Among the artists expected to earn multiple Grammy nominations are Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and the Black Eyed Peas. One intriguing thing to watch for: Who will earn a Best New Artist nod, now that Lady Gaga and Kid Cudi aren’t eligible? The 2010 Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 31. The Grammy Awards can be found online at twitter.com/TheGrammys and www.grammy.com.
