Which is what makes her a "hipstah" Not at all. Real ones would embrace manufactured pop music for what it is, unabashedly (look at Pitchfork's Year End reviews of many pop songs); it's these fake self-righteous ones, who are in fact woefully contrived, that dislike manufactured pop music for the masses. Elly is just a twat. (Oh, and at least The Saturdays accept they're manufactured and roll with it, which earns a lot more respect in my book.)

I really have fallen in love with this album. Eleanor's voice is great. Going to see them in November.
I feel like they should have rereleased In For The Kill, instead of going with Tigerlily. Nevertheless, they are in desperate need for a new album if they want to stay on the radar.

Here's how I would have handled the era: Bulletproof Tigerlily As If By Magic In For The Kill Colourless Colour

God, La Roux is annoying me with that. I mean it's funny what she said about Gaga but her whole attitude towards pop music is actually eerily similar to Gaga - both equally pretentious, and equally flawed. I do like La Roux's music, but as a person she's really off putting. Firstly she has no right to cry about the state of vocals in today's pop music, when many many people think she sounds like a screeching cat. To be quite honest she probably has a worse voice than Lady Gaga. Secondly by critisizing "manufactured" pop music, as a pop artist she is completely missing the very point of pop music - yes, it's supposed to be manufactured and vocal talent shouldn't matter one bit; snobery has no place and artistic merit doesn't matter, and therefore Elly actually falls flat on her face. And that's not even to mention the incredibly hypocrisy of slamming manufactured artists, when she herself is an manufactured as pop stars come! Why, La Roux was doing piano music (like Lady Gaga) before a big label told her that electro-synth music was in, and to completely re-style herself in a striking androgynous image for success (a bit like Gaga's once again) For someone who is just as formulaic as the Saturdays (but in a way to earn "indie credibility" through an 80s revival style (which may I say is nothing new)) she has no right to spew this pretentious crap: but then ironically it's probably devised by the label, to increase controversy for success. I just hate these new pop stars, who think they're bringing in a second coming to music, through ridiculous avant-garde styling, and "edgy" synths, while dissing all other music for being "manufactured": when they completely misunderstand the very nature of the music they're making. I at least like La Roux's music; but her awful attitude is so offputting. PREACH. God I miss Scott.

Here's how I would have handled the era: Bulletproof Tigerlily As If By Magic In For The Kill Colourless Colour At this point, the era was handled fine. But for them to keep their mainstream exposure, they would need to re-release In For The Kill, then have a new album out soon. Some album tracks I like include Armour Love, As If By Magic, and especially Cover My Eyes. And yes, Eleanor is one big hypocrite with those Lady Gaga comments (she started out in folk music, with long hair ) but I don't care. :/

And I was right! According to Elly's Twitter, she and Kanye West re-recorded In For The Kill and shot a video for it back in September. I wonder how that's going to pan out.

I went to see her live a few days ago. I must say, I felt somewhat underwhelmed. Not because they didn’t give a good performance, but I may not be as into their music as much as I thought. I don’t know. I didn’t feel the same energy I did at the Mika and Britney shows. But it was still nice seeing them in person and hearing Elly’s amazing vocals live. She interacted with the crowd though, and wasn't a bitch. No Lady Gaga rants, either. They performed 2 new songs from their new album. I wasn't a fan of them ...

I am currently obsessed with Growing Pains . I think it's amazing considering I wasn't too crazy about it just a few months ago . I'm excited for their new album !

THey are playing the new version of In For The Kill on Sirius/XM's 20 on 20 all the time! It'd be great if Elly never rerecorded those vocals, though.
