I freakin HATE it when i hear a song, and it turns out with no bridge. It bothers me so much. It just makes it feel like the writers got too lazy to come up with a 10-15 second bridge. It cheapens the song, and by the time the chorus rolls around for the third time, the song becomes too redundant without the bridge. I especially hate it when the beat just goes on where an actual bridge could've been written in.
'Apologize' is a perfect example of a song that does this (actually a lot of Timbaland songs don't have a bridge). I'm glad Keri Hilson went back into the studio and added that bridge on 'Energy,' it makes the song so much more interesting.

"Apologize" does need something else, it's a little repetitive. Other than that I don't mind.

I LOVE APOLOGIZE
it does not need a bridge for awesomeness!

I totally agree, Legend. Songs with bad structure and non stop choruses can get tiring. At least Apologize has like a pause before the last chorus though, so there's definitely worse examples out there (like Shake It Off, which never ends lol)
Speaking of Timbaland, I like how they fixed The Way I Are for radio. The album version is kind of boring, but I like how they changed the chords on one of the choruses in the radio edit to act as sort of a bridge.

no...
it doesn't bother me at all... i would agree saying that it does help out a bunch of songs...making them more interesting...but i don;t think its necessary to have bridges in all songs...

Agreed. Personally I don't mind songs without a bridge. Besides most rap songs don't even have them.

2 of my year-end #1 songs had no bridge:
1999: Anggun - Snow on the Sahara 2002: Celine Dion - A New Day Has Come
