2 Years ago...Xtina kicked off a hot trend when her album 'underperformed'...her hates were so excited that she wasn't selling as much with her double album 'Back to Basics'...however, many fans learned their lesson when their favorite artists came back and not only 'underperformed', but in many cases couldn't even sell half as much.
Exciting album eras, with each fanbase predicting the artist was gonna have huge success. Each of these eras started off strong with great performing 1st singles which everyone thought would foreshadow a huge era. However, things fell apart quick...as every singer released a follow up 2nd single that completely ruined the momentum for the era.
Now we have 7 pissed off divas...with 7 pissed off fan bases. All these albums (i already predict Mariah and Madonna too) ended their era's early after only three singles.
Positive Note:
'Back to Basics'' -Christina struck gold with the 'Back to Basics' tour grossing over $75 million as well as her Billboard Top ten hit 'Ain't No Other Man'.
'The Best Damn Thing'-'Girlfriend' hit #1 on the Hot 100
'The Sweet Escape'-The single did pretty well, becoming one of Stefani's biggest hits.
'E=MC2'-'Touch My Body' became the 18th #1 hit of her career
'Blackout'-'Gimme More' reached #3 on the Hot 100
'My December'-'Never Again' peaked at #8 on the Hot 100
'Hard Candy'-'4 Minutes' gave her 38 top ten billboard hits.

'Hard Candy'-'4 Minutes' gave her 38 top ten billboard hits AND another HUGE tour that has either or is going to break her record AGAIN! Bitch keeps breaking those records that she sets herself!
LEGEND! LOL
Anyway, my vote goes to Mariah cause her era is not over yet and sales over a million imo isnt a flop, because of todays record sales.
Madonna is looking to flop if things dont turn around. I dont think Avril flopped cause she sold pretty well in the US considering and WW, the only thing imo that flopped was Hot. Kelly = HUGE flop. Britney is hard to say cause she didnt do any promotion for the album except for her troubles, and she had three moderate hits and almost sold a million albums on top of it.. many artists are currently having hits while promoting and arent even close to her sales. lol Gwen, had a really successful second single, sold alright albums but overall the era underperformed.. Christina had a pretty good era overall, her album did pretty well until Candyman hit the radio waves (US). lol Her singles did alright, Hurt and Candyman could have definitely performed better but she did have a really successful tour.
Its really hard to say..
I would say Christina, Avril, Mariah.
Britney is in the middle
while My December is at the bottom.

I'd say either Christina, Gwen or Britney. But I gave a slight edge to Gwen here.

Its too early to call Mariah and Madonna's flops. Britney had no promo but did well considering the mess the whole era and herself were, should eventually reach platinum. Christina's era was handled IMO messy, and for a 2006 release clearly underperformed yet I wouldnt call it a total BOMB due to a successful tour. Gwen again a 2006 release, underperformed overall yet had 2 top 10 hits out of it , also had a successful US tour grossing 30 million. Avril underperformed too, but she disgust me so I dont follow nor keep up with her. Kelly Clarkson.... well I had never seen such promo for a single, Never Again, yet she FAILED miserably once the album was released. Overall most of these where disappointments rather than total bombs.
