And hey, maybe I'm a hypocrite seeing as I jam to artists who have more race-based songs than this guy. I enjoy 2pac's debut album, which was heavily political and highlighted the struggles of his people at that time. I listen to that album and hear a guy who cared about his race and about society in general, and wanted to see it become a better place. He wanted to bring attention to the issues plaguing inner-city America. Kanye just wants to draw attention to himself. This doesn't scream "progressive" or "proactive" to me; it screams "check me out."
But what do I know? I'm just some white guy who lives in the suburbs.
