Is Pink overrated?

Don't get me wrong, I love me some P!nk. And I love me some Try. But since Pink's performance at an award show her stans are acting like she's the second coming.

Excuse me, first off that title, belongs to the Legend Of The United States.

But if not, it definitely belongs to Britney Spears or Beyonce or Lady Gaga. Or even Rihanna for Gods sake.

I'd even put Kelly Clarkson, Kesha, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift ahead of her. And don't get me started on legends like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, and Madonna.

Yes, she's been consistent for the last 5 years. But she hasn't had any HUGE hit in those 5 years And don't forget she was a complete flop for like 6 years before that.

Maybe, it's just me, but I'm looking for a performer who can actually entertain. Not some person doing gymanastics to show off.

What will her next stunt be? Running a marathon while singing? How about she sings while being a quarterback of of a football game? (And lets be real, P!nk would be a better football player than a singer ) How about singing doing the pole vault? How about singing while holding her breath underwater for a minute? How about singing while doing construction work? (And something tells me, P!nk would LOVE to do construction work ). I mean what is this stunt queen's next stunt going to be? Is Sausage L!nk P!nk overrated?

No. If anything Pink is underrated, have you seen her performances? Her performance at the grammys that is down as one of the greatest grammy performances? She is so real no fake shit, her voice is amazing and raw nothing like the rest of the women we have, don't get me wrong I love them to but her voice is very different from theirs and so is her music. She never conforms to anything and always does the music she wants to do regardless of the music 'trend' going on. Her last album Funhouse and one before I'm Not Dead is and always be one of my favourites, Dear Mr President is just like...that song is pure perfection. She wanted to release it as a single but her label said no, when it then started to get attention and drama around it they wanted to but she then said no because she didn't want it to become drama. She just wanted to be real and release her opinion and the truth. She is an amazing performer and Katy Perry, Ruhanna, Kelly Clarkson, Kesha, Taylor Swift etc. could NEVER do that 'gymnastic stuff' and still sound amazing their vocals would sound terrible. She hasn't had a hit in years? She had a baby and wanted to take time off to be with her husband and baby that's the responsible thing to do she hadn't any time of in years. She came back with a new album which hit No.1 and is already certified Gold and a top 10 debut single? Her last tour the Funhouse Tour earned over $150million and had 3 million in attendance becoming one of the highest-grossing concert tours in history. She has never had an album that has 'floppped' (I despise that word). Do some research and go look at her performances, award shows and her tour.

Is Pink's current era overrated? Yes. I feel she doesn't have many strong songs this time around. But as a whole, it's really unfair to treat her as just a singles artist. I mean, she can range anywhere from "Most Girls" to "Trouble" to "Dear Mr. President". I honestly think she's one of the least gymnastic-type singers out there. Instead she has that raw kind of attitude that I love from an artist.

Not to mention, she's one of the few female pop singers to consistently hit my chart. She's up there with Katy and Kelly in that regard.

Yeah her current album definitely isn't one of my faves, I think she's made that mistake of having to many tracks, if she got rid of some album fillers I think I would like it much more, there are like 5 tracks that I absolutely love though. I think her current era might be overrated cause its just different to whats out there at the moment, her album doesn't have one 'dancey electro euro' track with autotune that we've all heard a thousand times this past year a mistake that I think Christina has done on her recent album. She didn't need the autotune or voice effects on any of her songs.

I feel weird saying that a "quietly successful" artist like P!nk is underrated, but that's how I feel. She might not be shoved in my face the way that women like Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are but I could care less. Her voice is AWFUL...just listen to "Blow Me" and "Try" if you don't believe me. Every time she sings, it's like a headache waiting to happen. How did this woman become such a staple on radio?

While I like some of her earlier work ("Don't Let Me Get Me" and "Just Like A Pill" are pretty good), that's not enough for her not to be one of my least favorites. She's one of few artists that I would say is constantly bad.

Oh don't get me wrong, like I said, I love me some P!nk. Glitter In The Air at the Grammys was amazing! I think Im just more turned off by her stans proclaiming her as the second coming and saying she is a better performer than Gaga, Britney,Beyonce, Michael Jackson, etc. I

It's like it's one thing to praise her, but it's another thing to go too far with your praise!!!

You don't consider Try This a flop though? Im Not Dead flopped in the USA too at first, until U+Ur Hand saved it.

P!nk has always been incredibly overrated in my eyes but within the last 5 years have really proven how off the mark she has become.

All her first singles sound the exact same. "So What", "Raise Your Glass", "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" all sound the same and are disposable pop tunes with no real charm or need to overplay them. Her latest 'downtempo/midtempo/ballad' songs all suffer the same problem.

She also suffers from overcompensation. She promotes these meaningful, deep albums and leaves any sort of emotional depth to the album tracks and tosses out disposable radio friendly shit to the radio. She had some great songs on I'm Not Dead and Funhouse and instead gave us "Stupid Girls", "U+Ur Hand", "So What" and "Sober".

Her albums haven't been coherent since I'm Not Dead either. Misundaztood! was a perfectly coherent album and was when I thought P!nk was really going to take off as a major player in the Pop game. She may have released a stupid yet fun party anthem as her first single, but she had to. Her first album introduced us to her and none of her singles from that album were huge. She followed it up with 3 great pop songs, HER BEST SINGLES, in "Don't Let Me Get Me", "Just Like a Pill" and "Family Portrait". Three amazingly emotionally charged singles, all that were huge hits and showed who she was as an artist. She let that go to shit when she recorded one of the worst records in recent memory in "Try This".

And in that, she was forced to start over. She tried to shove indictments on Hollywood, like she did 5 years earlier in "Don't Let me Get Me", but at 2006, people weren't having it. So we got 2 more generic hit singles that anyone could've recorded.

P!nk's problem is she is also very forgettable. She has no face forward awareness keeping her in the eye. She throws an album out there, gets 2 hits, goes away for a few years and then comes back hoping something sticks. "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" is a perfect example of that. Its a shit pop record with the same melody and production as Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger". "Try" sounds like "Who Knew" all over again.

She gets no recurrent play on any format, she has no stabilizing sales.

I won't even try and lie, P!nk has an amazing voice, but you don't like P!nk in the way someone likes Adele or Paloma Faith. P!nk is a 32 year old 13 year old. You wanna see her act immature on stage and be a bad ass. But she's also stuck in that genre just like Avril Lavigne. You're always going to hear her "rebellious and edgy" 1st single and then a midtempo that you've heard 30,000 times before from her.

In a short notice, she's horribly overrated. The only reason from her sustained sales as she's gone from more of a Pop staple to a Hot AC staple, losing fans from the 18-28 range and picking up the 30 and 40 year old moms who still strive to stay cool and edgy, much like P!nk herself.
