Pipa bringing up that my radio show sort of reflects my "personal chart" made me want to start posting the playlists from each show. Though, they differ from a personal chart in that you will rarely see a song played in more than one episode. I try to play as much different stuff as I can. Therefore, it only happens (and not nearly all of the time) if a song hits #1 on CAN act or CAN alt, is moving up the Hot 100 quickly, or if I have a good relationship with the band/label. Also, old songs are included in every show. I'm just gonna keep them all in the one thread. Feel free to do the X/Y thing if you'd like! This one is from last week, but there will be another one tonight (my show is on Tuesdays). Episode #80 - October 30, 2012 Rubicon Cross - Locked & LoadedMother Mother - Bit By Bit Hinder - Save Me Rival Sons - Keep On Swinging Wintersleep - Nothing Is Anything (Without You) Walk The Moon - Tightrope Bad Books - Forest Whitaker The Zolas - Knot In My Heart Days Of The New - Enemy Rouge Pompier - Paquet D'Choses I Am War - Uninvite Me To Your Facebook PartyBullet For My Valentine - Temper Temper Sum 41 - Fat Lip Marilyn Manson - Slo-Mo-Tion Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux - Mother Of GirlThe Trews - The Power Of Positive Drinking Less Than Jake - The Science Of Selling Yourself Short I'll put links by songs that haven't charted or haven't been discussed in case you'd like to hear them.

I'm impressed by both the variety of rock this encompasses as well as the amount of forgotten songs you play. How do I listen to the shows online?

Also, on Tuesday I'll be having my LAST show! First the Thrash, now you too? Your shows were good.

Well thank you, Pipa! It's because of college. I really don't want to be doing more work than I have to. You may think an hour show is easy and quick, but it's not if you want to make it decent. It takes me a good 4 hours or so. I've also been doing the show less than once a week in the past few months due to having a text the next day, and assignment due, going out to watch a hockey games (#canadianproblems), etc. I also get home from it around 11, after being at college from 8:30-4:30, and have to get up at 7 the next morning. Why does it take so long? It's hard to find CanCon some weeks is my biggest annoyance. I have also been doing less than one show a week due to having a text the next day, having an assignment due the next day, and going to the scattered Tuesday night hockey game (#canadianproblems). I rarely hear from anyone besides friends regarding my show. Also, I take the time to mix my mp3s together beforehand, making nice crossfades and such. 99% of others at the station don't have the sense to do this, so they like having 5 seconds of dead air multiple times per show. Also, at a campus station, you get nothing out of it. We have little to no listeners. Our transmitter is only 50w, which for example can't be picked up at my house (about 10-15 minutes of city driving away). I do enjoy it most nights, but it can get frustrating not having any listeners. The station is also blind to the whole fact that we have no listeners. Additionally, they maintain a clear "we are not trying to/do not want to compete with commercial stations" attitude. And the law regarding "hit songs" annoy me. I play songs again when they get bigger in the alt/rock world, but songs I played way before pop radio (Pumped Up Kicks, We Are Young, Some Nights, Somebody That I Used To Know, Tongue Tied, It's Time, etc.) I can never replay (though look for Pumped Up Kicks in my final show). The rules for swearing in the songs you play are unclear. Law explicitly states that stations can swear after 9 (including DJs). While most commercial stations don't even do that, you'd think we'd have the freedom to at a campus station. Once this old prick who has a few shows there came in while I was playing Longview and tried to tell me that I couldn't play it, acting like he owned the place. I gave him an earfull. Anyway I got an E-mail from the program director telling me the blurry rules about swearing on the station. I like the PD but tl;dr it sorta pissed me off and I continued to never censor anything (see Kill The DJ), but it's like I have to walk on eggshells to play what I want. I could have made an image to go on the station's main page to promote my show, but I didn't want any of the management to listen to my show because I didn't want them to mess with what I could and couldn't play. My PD says "Sorry to hear, Nick! The door's always open should you change your mind down the road!" Doubt I'll do it again, though. Perhaps an internet-only version when I have some more time. And don't let my swearing rage fool you lol, I do like the PD alot. There's definitely more reasons lol. But that's alot of them. The last show will be Tuesday at 8:30 PM EST and you can listen here. I'm going to run a bit over an hour and play a few of the many songs I loved from 2010-2012 (the years the show went on), all following the same sort of tone. DAMN I don't care if no one read all that; it felt great to get it all out.

Can't you just click the Crossfade button (if the media player you use has one)? Also, at a campus station, you get nothing out of it. We have little to no listeners. Our transmitter is only 50w, which for example can't be picked up at my house (about 10-15 minutes of city driving away). Do you have a public radio station? Try getting a show there. As KP knows it's the only station around here that'll play Swedish death metal. it's like I have to walk on eggshells to play what I want. Well that's probably the most accurate lesson in radio you'll ever get. Couldn't you just make your own radio edits, like the Thrash did? And I hear you on the CanCon thing. That's why I could never do a radio show. And I almost forgot: Green Day - Stop When The Red Lights Flash The Sheepdogs - Feeling Good Tokyo Police Club - Nature Of The Experiment Taking Back Sunday - MakeDamnSure Hollerado - Pick Me Up Collective Soul - Gel There's a lot I haven't heard.

Can't you just click the Crossfade button (if the media player you use has one)? The software isn't good enough to do them as well as I want to. Plus, I would have to pay attention more. The way I do it is you just start the file once and don't have to do anything at all until you go on air again (about 3-4 songs). Do you have a public radio station? Try getting a show there. As KP knows it's the only station around here that'll play Swedish death metal. We are both a campus and community station, and the only one. Well that's probably the most accurate lesson in radio you'll ever get. Couldn't you just make your own radio edits, like the Thrash did? I could, and I did for my first episode, but that would be even more time consumed. Bundle that with the fact that I hate censorship...

Had a great time doing the last show. I'll miss it, but I also feel like a weight has been lifted.
Played a very small portion of some of my favourites from 2010-2012 (the show's run). Sorta kept with the same feeling/tone throughout the songs.

I Don't Even Know 'Er [2011] My Chemical Romance - Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) [2010] Bloc Party - Octopus [2012] Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks [2011] Hey Ocean! - Big Blue Wave [2012] The Parlor Mob - Into The Sun [2011] Passion Pit - Take A Walk [2012] Hollerado - Good Day At The Races [2011] Protest The Hero - Moonlight [2011] Muse - Madness [2012] The Naked And Famous - All Of This [2010] A Day To Remember - All I Want [2010] The Joy Formidable - Whirring [2011]
