Since KP said he likes the sound of rock songs from 2002, I figured I'd post this one.
This one went to #32 on mainstream rock. Not as good as the first single "Faithless" (#19 mainstream and #22 alt), but still a great song. I'd be real impressed if any station were to play this recently.

I believe I've cited this before as one of my favourite nu-metal songs. One of the best of 2002.
I think KP's dream was to listen to rock radio during 2002. It really wasn't that special.

It's really strong on first listen! Definitely a lot better than some of the other obscure nu metal from that era that I have heard (Skrape, Reveille, etc.) I certainly wouldn't mind hearing this on the radio. I think KP's dream was to listen to rock radio during 2002. It really wasn't that special. Yeah, I'd love to go back ten years and listen to 98 Rock. I can understand why a lot of people dislike rock from 2002. I feel the same wayabout rock radio in 2004, which I believe was your favorite year.

Glad I turned you on to it! Faithless was on the soundtrack of The Fast And The Furious, and I liked that song alot since a couple of years after that movie. So I got their whole album just a few days ago and I was quite impressed. This is definitely my favourite. I believe I've cited this before as one of my favourite nu-metal songs. I was only 10 then. 2001 was really when I started listening and loving rock (I always credit "Fat Lip" by Sum 41 as the song that got me into rock). Though, MuchMusic was the only place I could get any new songs (they actually had music on back then, and even rock/metal, imagine that), so I'd say I missed a few dandy songs. 2004 had its share of generic rock, but a ton of great indie bands broke through that time period. Not that I disagree, but give me a reminder of some who did.

I was 11, and at that time there was Edge TV, which was an awesome channel. To me the highlights were: The Hives - Hate to Say I Told You So System of a Down - Aerials Puddle of Mudd - Drift and Die Foo Fighters - All My Life The White Stripes - Fell in Love with a Girl The Music - Take the Long Road and Walk It Edwin and the Pressure - Impossible Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows Stone Sour - Bother OK Go - Get Over It Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - The Last DJ Treble Charger - Hundred Million Weezer - Keep Fishin' Boston - I Had a Good Time 2004 had its share of generic rock, but a ton of great indie bands broke through that time period. Not that I disagree, but give me a reminder of some who did. Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, Death from Above 1979, Stars, Tegan and Sara...pretty much all of the now iconic ones.

On a quick listen of the rest, they all seem great too. I'll probably get them all. Yeah Edge TV must have been great. I visited Toronto when I was 12 and listened to The Edge the whole time. I was amazed that the music I like actually gets played on the radio. I remember hearing everything uncensored late at night too. Those were the days. I think everything they have is censored at night now, too.

A little while ago I was telling KP how they played "Down with the Sickness", "Sabotage" and "Closer" all uncensored in a row.
