Out of these 4 women - who have been singled out and praised by critics, the music industry, and the public in the last 25 years - who had THE VOICE during the peak of their career?

Great poll! Because I don't know much about these singers' live voices, I will be relying on the videos you posted to rank them. I just listened to all four and here is how I rank them.
1) Whitney Houston - While her style is not my cup of tea, there is no denying that she had the perfect voice. Her singing live sounded better than a lot of people sound in the studio, and the performance you posted proved that. She gets my vote.
2) Mariah Carey - My favorite singer from this list, I would say Mariah is right up there with Whitney in having the best voice. "Hero" isn't one her better songs imo but even that sounds good live.
3) Christina Aguilera - Another amazing voice, and dare I say the best of her time. People have always loved to criticize her for non-musical reasons, but you can't say anything bad about that voice.
4) Celine Dion - While she has a great voice, I personally don't think she is on the level of the other three. I never understood what the big deal was with Celine Dion.

Case and point. 4. She has an epic and powerful voice. Her rendition of Prayer is beautiful and MHWGO is one of the best songs ever. Cheesy as hell but it's perfect and epic and suiting for an epic movie.

BTW, if anyone is familiar with one (or a few) of the artists, post some videos. I was somewhat in a rush last night.
I voted for Celine. She has the ability to sound soft, like an angel but also be powerful and boisterous (like in the final chorus of MHWGO). Her ability to quickly change notes is a plus, too. And I like how she doesn't really over-sing with runs (the other 3, esp Christina and Mariah, have a habit of doing that). She doesn't need to be showy.
It doesn't have anything to do with this poll, but out of the 4, Celine has maintained her voice the best - she takes care of it. The other 3 have not and it has shown.
Whitney is a close second for me, followed by Christina then Mariah.

Christina can't hold back and always drags the words and screams more then she sings. Pretty overrated if you ask me.
Whitney for the win.

Whitney is a close second for me, followed by Christina then Mariah. I actually meant to put Mariah before Christina. All are great singers, don't get me wrong. I'm just being very nit-picky for the poll purposes. With Christina, the problem she's always had was her infamous "voice split/break" when she's in the moment and goes for a high note. Some would argue that's just a character of her voice (like Demi's raspy-ness), but to me it's an excuse for Christina to go flat ... Mariah has had the same problem as of lately. Her voice sounds tired.

Why is Xtina even included in this? Let's be fair; while not everyone likes her voice or how she uses it, there is no denying Christina's talent. I never understood the appeal of Celine Dion, but I understand her place in this poll.

I never understood the appeal of Celine Dion, but I understand her place in this poll. Xtina did have a good voice in her prime (I'll give her that), but it's not in the league of the other 3 artists. Mariah, Whitney and Celine were the most renound vocalists during their peaks (Xtina has not done anything as extrodinary as some of their earliar work to even be considered in their league). Here's how I'd rank them % wise using the Canadian grading system: 1. Mariah Carey - 97% (A+) - Her voice was as close too perfect as you could possibly get. She was known for her tremendous range (5 octaves) and her unique ability to sing in the whistle register. While she's not as powerful as Whitney in her belts, she more than made up for it in her vocal runs as well as displaying different dimensions of her voice (she also has a gorgeous lower register - see My All and Melt Away). 2. Whitney Houston - 95% (A+) - While she didn't have as large of a range as Mariah, her upper register belts were marvelous and nobody could match her ability to project that powerful voice. 3. Celine Dion 93% (A+) - Celine's earliar work was impeccable (see Where Does My Heart Beat Now). Her belts were breath taking and her ability to project her voice was nearly as great as Whitney. 4. Christina Aguilera 84% (A-) - Her voice has a lot of power and her range was as great as Celine and Whitney; however, her poor control made her vocals no where near the quality of the 3 other ladies. Celine, Mariah and Whitney were the big 3 when it came to the vocal divas and I truly believe that had Xtina been around during their prime, she may not have stood out as much as she did with her peers during her prime (Britney, Jessica, Mandy Moore, etc).

^^That's the thing about Christina. Her entire career, she has tried to be the "pop star" AND the singing diva, but it has shown, especially after Bionic, that it may not work for her anymore - the last time where she played both roles was on Stripped. I'd like her to put out adult comtemporary albums that really show her voice from now on - like the ballads that were on Bionic (that were COMPLETLY overlooked).

The problem I have with Christina is that she tries so hard to be ~different~ like she's Madonna when really she's more along the lines of Mariah with the soulful voice.

^ For some reason, it won't let me like your post... but I like it Yeah, with Bionic especially, Christina was trying to push boundries that were already pushed with Madonna 20 years earlier. Female sexual empowerment is no longer a taboo in the music industry... we've become so desensitized.
