How did I forget my QUEEN? Please Don't Stop The Music/Disturbia brought the whole europop/techno into mainstream music. My Queens always at the front, always a leader, never a follower. There you have it. RihLord, Godney and Godga all were the forerunners of electro/euro/techno pop. Ke$ha is a follower.

You know what? You can have your opinion, I can have mine and that's all fine and dandy. Rihanna wasn't putting out true dance music in 2008, nor was GaGa in 2009. But it is what it is.

X 64567829 this is why this forum needs more people. so even among opinions, the fact/truth usually prevails after the disagreements cuz there are receipts for the truth and non for opinions.

it means i need Andre from ATRL to come over here so he can play detective and find all the critical acclaim/sales/stats to show us if Ke$ha was truly a pioneer in pop music as you say. so far everyone here says no except you. so I just want to see who is really correct. even though I'm sure my reads were 100% correct

This is why I said you were missing my point. I was never talking about sales, charts, stats or any of that stuff. There is no right or wrong here; it's just all a matter of opinion. Sometimes people should agree to disagree.

The one thing that you can't argue is that what grew tremendously after Tik Tok was Dr. Luke's presence on top 40 radio
After Tik Tok, artists/managers wanted THAT electro-dance sound and other producers wanted to replicate it - and we got it and we're still in the midst of it right now. I think that's what KP was talking about. Yes, there were dance songs on the radio prior to 2010, but they were more or less flukes - artist specific dance music - not in the style that Tik Tok was... and that style has been mimicked again and again.
Yes, Bad Ramonce was massive - but have you heard other artists try to capitalize on that style? Atm, Lady Gaga seems to abandoning that style herself. Same goes for BBP. As for Blackout, to me, it sounded like a weakly-produced Timbaland album. Sure, it had elements of dubstep than everyone rants and raves about...but no one paid attention to it at the time. Britney's HIAM had more influence on popular music than the entire Blackout album.

What sort of delusion? and Dr. Luke was always big. he had some minor hits back in the early 2000s/late 90s and then Kelly cemented his name in pop music with Since U Been Gone. the P!nk released Funhouse where Dr. Luke's presence was dominant the same year Britney released Circus, both TWO years earlier than Ke$ha. Ke$ha is nothing speical and she didn't help anyone's careers or reinvent jack squat. She's a basic pop artist with a sub par voice and cleverly auto-tuned songs and she will remain NOT paving ways for unlike the legends of pop music.

Well, I gave it a shot I feel like we aren't on the same level or talking about the same thing. It's obvious you don't see where I'm coming from nor do I see the point you're trying to make. I can go on with another argument, but I think it's pointless. I'll take KP's stance and agree to disagree.

I think Derek made a fair point about Blackout, saying it sounded like a weakly-produced Timbaland album. A lot of people at the time compared it to FutureSex/LoveSounds and other Timbaland material that dominated pop radio from 2006-08.
As for the argument about Ke$ha, Derek did a better job of getting my point across than I did and I honestly have nothing more to add.

Her debut, bar 'Animal' was PERFECT. The remix of Animal on Cannibal saved it. Ke$ha knows how to deliver a flawfree pop album.
