It's a tough question to answer. It really depends on what you mean by "back." If you mean back as in her current Hot 100\pop success, then I would say no because nobody remains at that level forever. But if you mean will she always be relevant to the music world, I would feel inclined to say yes.

Girl was never gone and never will be gone. Her amazing versatility will forever and always solidify her relevancy in the music world even as she gets older. #timeless #queen

Well Kelly always had Hot 100 success. And pop has supported her well in these past years but I was talking more about being relevant again.

TBH...I really wouldn't mind another Dr. Luke/Max Martin collaboration. I know she's over that phase in her life but come ON. Those producers know how to crank out a hit for our girl, and unlike the lessers who get similar songs, i.e. California Gurls and Tik Tok, they would have to make a completely new and original beat for Kelly to suite her powerful vocals. I have yet to hear a song similar to SUBG or BTHE done by any other pop divas...even MLWSWY was a semi original beat.

She never left. She just dipped in relevancy, but she was always relevant on some level and she always will be. But in terms of her "glory days" Yes shes definitely back to that level, almost.

I'm not so sure about that...I think she needs a career defining song. Another SUBG. yes yes WDKY is amazing and I love it, but it's just a chart topping smash. It's great but not iconic. It's no Umbrella/Bad Romance/Since U Been Gone/Oops I Did It Again. It's just a Only Girl/Born This Way/Hold It Against Me. She's becoming relevant again but to be the "IT" girl again (which I know she's doesn't care about) she needs a We Found Love

When you say "for good".... Isn't this her last album with her record label ? I heard that she was going to go Alanis on us after this record by independently releasing music for her fans. Wasn't she really vocal about that a while ago? If that is the case, I HIGHLY doubt she'll be calling up Max and Luke To answer the question, she'll never be as beg as she was during the Breakaway era. Artist go through that type of success period only once in a career. Our old pal legendtina made a yearly list of "it girls" a while ago and I firmly believe that Katy Perry will never have the attention / success she has with Teenage dream in 2010 / 2011, Rihanna will never have another GGGB era, etc. This isn't just measured in sales, but more or less media attention and a huge increase of interest in the general public. I'm not saying that careers or dead after these huge eras either, but it takes a year on the "It Girl" train to establish yourself as a force in the mainstream music market. Hope this all made sense. :/ With Kelly, she an established artist who never left, imo. (should have just said that )

Nah, I think you hit the nail on the head. When you have an era as huge as Breakaway or Teenage Dream, there is really nowhere to go but down with the next record. The next album might be huge in the grand scheme of things, but it just can't be compared to the big one.

Wrong. Rihanna had a HUGE era with GGGB and the CB happened along with Rated R...who knew her next album was gonna be a monster of a SMASH? Like omg it is epic and then We Found Love came along? DEATH! Rihanna has had not one but THREE HUGE ERAS. Gurl's got the IT factor. So does Kelly...that is, if she just tires to please the general public besides her fans.

In terms of HUGE eras, GGGB is Rihanna's huge era. It has sold more than her other albums, had more hits singles etc. Loud was semi succesful, yes it had 3 #1 hits but the #'s in terms of US sales were nothing to call home about. TTT isn't anything to call home about either. WFL will be her career song, but You da One bombed (mainly because her label released it at a stupid time) and TTT is now jeopardy of being a hit as WFL is still getting major airplay and this whole Chris Brown thing really is going to test her.

I'm surprised her label sent it for adds on urban...especially cuz they had no idea this who duet was brewing...I'm curious as to how this whole fiasco is gonna work out.

(should have just said that ) After Stronger she has one more album with RCA and they will make sure they release a greatest hits and/or a Christmas album which don't count as a studio album. RCA has a new CEO and team and Kelly really digs them and they have been making her really happy. The reason why Stronger is one of her favorite albums is because there was no drama and her label and herself agreed on a lot of things. So I will be very very shocked if she leaves RCA especially when Clive is gone. And I do get where you are coming from but I didn't mean like she would go back to her peak but I do think that this era she will come close to it. Having said that I feel she kinda lost momentum a lot during the My December era and gained little by little during All I Ever Wanted but in this era I feel like she is getting a lot of momentum back.

^I agree. This era > All I Ever Wanted era. Especially with Stronger making it to #1 on the Hot 100. It wasn't a hyped 1st single, it got there legitamently (without radio support at the time, either!)

AIEW was a much better album in terms of cohesion to me. This album sounds all over the place. Like a mix of Breakaway and My December, which makes it lack vision.

I disagree, I think in terms of sound, this album is the most cohesive. AIEW was very eclectic as Kelly says in interviews, it had a lot of different genre mixes. Stronger seems to fit together quite well.

I mean on All I Ever Wanted it went from Lollipop pop to pop rock to punk to urban to contemporary christian to country. Stronger feels like a complete package. All of the songs contain a similar theme and have a similar element of sound.

I do feel she's solidified herself as a true superstar with her latest album and its success. "Stronger" is just a strong effort throughout, and I think that's helped the cause, I see more top 10 hits coming this era.

Why does Kelly always get these types of threads but no one else? She's an international pop superstar! She's not going anywhere people!

Don't get mad at me, but I think "Stronger" will probably be Kelly's last massive hit, and her last song to hit #1 on CHR/Pop.

Don't get mad at me, but I think "Stronger" will probably be Kelly's last massive hit, and her last song to hit #1 on CHR/Pop. I remember you saying, before the era began that Kelly will probably never hit #1 on pop anymore. "The Princess Of Pop" has 29 songs that charted in the top 50 of pop and 14 of those went top 10 (average of 48%) and 6 of those went to #1 (average of 20%) . Now Kelly has 17 songs that charted in the top 50 of pop (every song she released) and 11 of those went top 10 (average of 65%) and 5 of those went to #1 (average of 29%). After her peak, Kelly got 4 top 10's and a number one. Kelly is still a high demand on pop radio. ETA : I'm pretty much sure Dark Side will prove you wrong.

Dark Side will be her next big hit. Then the album will only produce mediocre singles. Then she will fade away for a year or whatever, do a little bit of touring. People will start to doubt her again. She'll come back swinging with a new album, #1 lead single... WashRinseAndRepeat
