Though it's kind of unfair to compare the classic and lovable Martin/Britney combo to one of the worst producer/singer collaborations in recent history. The main problem with 'Myself' is that it copies an already dated sound from 06' and tries to infect itself in a radio climate that has progressed notably within that four year period between then and now.
The fact that 3 has a beautiful bridge, an actual melody, and insanely catchy rave influenced chorus is really rather besides the point. Even within Spears' vocal performance we can get a sense of the fun, spirited, joyful Britney of 99' but within an updated sonic progression of the current music scene. It's a beautiful nod to the nostalgic 90's and a wrap up of everything that has made Britney, Brit-ney, the driving force of pop music of the last decade.
Obvious Aguilera would find herself coming up short with this degenerate Timbo-copy that's already two-thousand and late that has no melody, no driving beat and no notable production.

3 doesn't have much of a melody And I think Not Myself Tonight sounds a bit more progressive than to be labeled as just 06 material. "Dance" songs back then were much more rhtyhmic and weren't as fleshed out as Not Myself Tonight. I'm guessing though, she's coming from the point of view that there's a part in the percussion that sounds a bit like SexyBack

3. I love NMT but it does feel dated, which isn't a bad thing but it might be in a few more years when it sounds extremely dated when looking back on it. 3 is an upbeat lovable pop song that gets you in the mood to dance

"3" is honestly the worst song Britney has released post "In the Zone"...i liked it at first but the burn rate on this was horrible. It's catchy but nothing else. Britney sounds too robotic on it, the lyrics get too cheesy after a while, and it begins sounding like a crappy demo.
"Not Myself Tonight" is probably better than any Britney song released off of both "Circus" and "Blackout"...except maybe "Gimme More".

Tough one, and neither is among my favourites from either artist... but I give a slight edge to "Not Myself Tonight".
