It would be nice for her to take some time and really focus on some new themes for the new album instead of crushes, love stories and ex boyfriends. If she can write some great new material that is not her typical music in the short period of time, then great! Bring it on! But if she is gonna rush them to get her album out sooner, then I think she needs a break. I don't want songs like the ones off her re-release. I want fantastic songs from her that are different for her, but not too different so she can keep her same fanbase. We just need something different from her.
I think that may be why I liked "White Horse" so much... it wasn't a typical Taylor song... it wasn't a "i wish i could be with you" song, a "i'm angry at you because what you did was wrong" song, or a "our love is perfect" song. Taylor took the role of the hurt, but not angry, just unforgiving. I really loved "A Place In This World" from her first record, for the same reason that it was different.
She just needs to explore different directions of the world for this album.

She is rushing because just like the Jonas Brothers she is headed nowhere FAST! So far they are having similar patterns. (I mean Taylor has exceeded The JBs...but that just means she will fall harder!) Jonas Brothers became big and really started getting their following thanks to Miley/BOBW concert(biggest teen act)...2nd album each single got bigger and bigger. Hold On>>SOS>>WYLMITE Then 2nd album came out they were on the top...Burnin Up was an actual hit. LoveBug was big...riding off of the success of Camp Rock got more fans. Rushed a third album - tanked. T Swift gained core country following after touring with Rascal Flatts(arguably biggest mainstream country act). Singles got bigger...TDOMG I think is her biggest from that first album... dates Joe...now gets her massive teeny boppers. Fearless huge. Rushes third Both did the release every song on sophomore album on iTunes...all of them went straight to number one! The only reason Taylor continued to be bigger than JB was because people pitied her after Kanye..(even the grammys pitied her ). now that that is over she MUST stand alone. Her LIVE vocals (like JB) are weak. They suck (IMO she is faaar worse than JB live). So she will automatically lose fanbase. She looks horrible in that Valentine's Day movie.(not gonna get good press there...if any) And her Grammy performance is getting a lot of negative attention. A night that SHOULD have been hers was stolen by Beyonce, GaGa(ONLY GOT 2 AWARDS...didn't even get to make a speech) and P!nk who lost EVERYTHING!

Such a hot picture. This album isn't being rushed anymore than Fearless was, and we all know how that turned out. I'm still holding out hope for Sparks Fly or I'd Lie. P.S. Anyone think she might release another EP or a tour DVD in the summer? I'm really hoping for a tour DVD, but I've already been burned by Kanye's promise of a DVD of the GitD tour (he paid out of his own pocket to record it and it still hasn't seen the light of day!) Better here something about her Grammys I'd love to see a cocky song about that. Like "I have 4 Grammys Bitch" I demand another collaboration with T-Pain. Or Kanye. P.S. T-Pain was apparently so pleased with his collaboration with T-Swizzle that he really wants to work with Carrie Underwood. He said all other artists "can suck it" until he works with Carrie Underwood.

@ the comparison to the Jonas Brothers and LoveBug being "big"! lol The amount of success Taylor has achieved is light-years above what the Jonas Brothers ever will or could achieve. The two acts are in completely different situations.

Since no one else (ie: the stans) will bring this up I will: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The head of Taylor's label, Scott Borchetta came out to Taylor's defense and it is full of LOLs and doucheyness: NASHVILLE, Tennessee — The head of Taylor Swift's record label is fired up and ready to defend his superstar from people who are criticizing her Grammy-night performance. "She is the voice of this generation. She speaks directly to (her fans), and they speak directly back to her," said Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta in a phone interview. "This is not `American Idol.' This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It's not about that technically perfect performance."Borchetta first responded to the backlash in The Tennessean. Asked by The Associated Press why he felt the need to defend Swift, he said because the criticism was "just over the top." "It's that classic thing that critics do of building something up and then wanting to tear it down," he said.Swift rehearsed her performance and duet with Stevie Nicks two different times at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in front of a crowd of people. Critics were nicer then. Entertainment Weekly wrote of the rehearsal, "The two women's voices complimented each other nicely on the harmonies of `Rhiannon ...'" But on Sunday night's Grammy show, Borchetta said Swift had a technical issue that made her worry about her performance. (Attempts to reach The Recording Academy for comment went unanswered.) "We had a volume problem in the ear. So, she was concerned that she wasn't able to hear everything in the mix," Borchetta said. "That's just part of live TV. ... So you're going to have difficulties on occasion. Unfortunately, on one of the biggest stages, we did have a technical issue. She couldn't hear herself like she had in rehearsal."As quickly as you could say "Fearless," bloggers and media outlets, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, pounced on Swift's performance. The chatter at times overshadowed the four Grammys she won – including album of the year. Borchetta said he doesn't need critics to give the 20-year-old the benefit of the doubt: "What we have is so much bigger than that. Am I going to ask them to turn their heads, no, I don't need them to."It's doubtful her fans will abandon Swift anytime soon, judging by the congratulations and positive comments on her Facebook and MySpace pages, or that those with tickets to the second leg of her sold-out "Fearless" tour will throw them away because she had a bad night. And with that, Borchetta has a message to all of her critics. "If you haven't seen her live performance, you're welcome to come out as my guest to a Taylor Swift show and experience the whole thing, because it's amazing. You can see her in her element. There's a reason tickets are selling like they are."Swift's "Fearless" album has sold over 5 million copies and was last year's top-selling album. She is the youngest artist to ever win the Grammys' top prize of album of the year. She will resume the "Fearless" tour March 4 in Tampa, Florida. www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/04/taylor-swifts-grammy-perf_n_448960.html--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOL@ VOICE OF OUR GENERATION.

Kelly Clarkson wrote something back to him ---------------------------------------------------------------- Wow …..Dear Scott Borchetta, I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like, including Taylor, so you might see why its upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit ‘the high notes’. Thank you for that ‘Captain Obvious’ sense of humor because you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well. Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better. I have been criticized left and right for having shaky performances before (and they were shaky) and what my manager or label executives say to me and the public is “I’ll kick butt next time” or “every performance isn’t going to be perfect” ……I bring this up because you should take a lesson from these people and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your ‘humble’ opinion lack true artistry), you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won’t go according to plan or work out and that’s okay.Sincerely, One of those contestants from American Idol who only made it because of her high notes iamkelly.wordpress.com/2010/02/04/scott-borchetta/---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GET IT KELLY.

She is rushing because just like the Jonas Brothers she is headed nowhere FAST! Jonas Brothers had about 25% of her popularity. She will be around for a looooooooong time. She just needs to explore different directions of the world for this album. She said she was, and I think she will. But the fact of it all is that songs like she made on Fearless are what the 12 year old girls want, and I personally love Fearless and I would gladly take another album like that.

I love how they say it like this was her FIRST pitchy performance.
Never saw her in concert...can't imagine her being any better...but every MAJOR national televised appearance she has sounded more or less "the same" - and that being VERY pitchy!
For YBTM...more or less being her signature song...she can NEVER sing it live. She is ALWAYS pitchy on "...can't you see that I'M the ONE who understands you..."
...the snl performance was also really bad

Taylor Swift is not gonna flop like The Jo Bros for a long time. Unlike the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift has a foundation on Country, Pop, and HAC and she has had at least a decent hit with all of her singles released to each format. The Jonas Brothers never had massive hits, with the semi-exception of "Burnin' Up", while Taylor has already had 4 or 5. Taylor has also sold significantly more than the Jonas Brothers and is way more respected by the music industry and the general public than the Jonas trio ever was. The Jonas Brothers were always looked at as a "Disney artist" and Disney artists don't get much respect with the general public typically (although lately with Miley Cyrus making it big on radio, Selena's song blowing up, and Jo Bros' minor success it looks like that is changing somewhat). On the other hand, Taylor first made it as a country artist. As a teenager, her songs caught the ears of many country music fans and even some that didn't like country but could relate to the teenage girl lyrics.
My point is that Taylor is respected by a much larger group of people than the Jonas Brothers were. Therefore, I highly doubt she will fade/fall fast like the Jonas Brothers just did.

Totally agree right here. I don't think the Jonas Brothers have even had like a Top 10 on Pop Radio. Burnin Up peaked just outside

T-Pain is smashy! Wayne's voice sounds like a person who has smoked cigarettes for 40 years and swallowed a box of tacks. Too scratchy and just ick.
