Biggest Collaboration of the year! Lead Single from "Blueprint 3", Jay Z's new album! It samples Paper Planes by MIA.

I was just about to create a thread on this. But I wasn't sure if M.I.A. was officially credited lol

I'm not sure either, but its a sample, and samples aren't usually featured. Plus it looks better with those four names, possibly the biggest rappers in the world right now - all in one song.

Wish the song was better though. But that's what usually happens when you get too many big names together - the song sucks

I know, its all a bit of a hot mess, and MIA's sample gets really annoying by the end.

Officially the song is Jay-Z and T.I. featuring Kanye West and Li' Weezy. (But it wouldn't fit). I would have thought 4 names like that would each demand equal billing

MIA should surprise everyone and show up on Grammy night to sing with the other 4 guys. Pregnant or not

M.I.A. is too? I thought she kept saying she couldn't make it cause she was about to give birth

While you were living under a rock the past week working on stuff for your class, tons of new performers were announced. M.I.A. is one of them. Most likely to perform on "Paper Planes", but that might be too much for her, so she will probably perform her one line from "Swagga Like Us".

I thought you were lying, but I just checked. Very rude. I hardly ever lie, especially about Grammy related information.

She doesn't look like she's dancing there
I hope they take advantage of this opportunity and use this performance as the song's "official" video

I wonder what she is going to do?...Will they start off with the intro of "Paper Planes" and then when she says for the first time "No one on the corner has swagga like us" is transforms into "Swagga Like Us"? Will she just do her sampled line? What will happen?

Yes! That would be perfect. I want her to sing one full verse and chorus, then at the end of the chorus, Swagga Like Us starts.

The song would be like 19 minutes LOL
They will probably end it right after T.I.'s verse. There is like 30+ seconds or so of her sampled line and They can use the intro on SLU which is like 30+ to account for most of MIA doing her solo thing

What? I'm sure 1 verse and 1 chorus of Paper Planes which shouldn't be more than 2 minutes. Swagga Like Us is like about 4-5 minutes. A 5-7 minute medley is not unreasonable.

SLU is 5:29. The radio edit is 4:14. So I guess they will use the radio edit.

Yep, it's going to work out. MIA better perform a good amount of Paper Planes anyway. She's pregnant and it's nommed for ROTY!
