I wonder why they are shooting two videos if there is only going to be one single. That would lead me to believe that there would be two singles: one for Pop/Hot AC and one for Alternative.

I don't know what to make of that clip. Her vocals sound really high-pitched, but musically it sounds like pop-friendly and summery type song.

Here's Day 2 of the Settle Down Music Video shoot. The song sounds like some of their earliar alternative sounding songs (Spiderwebs, Bathwater) mixed with the Reggae vibe from a few tracks off of Rock Steady. I LOVE IT!

I was more interested in her solo work than the bad work.
I remember i really hate "Don't Speak" when i was so young back then. It annoys me too much, not to mention the video made me hate it more. They were just not the typical music i listened to back then.

I never thought I'd like a No Doubt lead single more than a Green Day lead single. But, here we are.

That was decent and might be a grower, but I'm not truly digging it on first listen. I do agree with you that it's better than Green Day's lead single.

Are Pop and Hot AC really playing the 6-minute version?

Are Pop and Hot AC really playing the 6-minute version? Of course not. The radio edit is 3:34, and much more to the point.

Was so disappointed when I heard this. Definitely sounded like a pop radio song. The fact that alt stations are playing it makes me sad.

^I find it to be much worse that they are playing "Too Close" by Alex Clare. That song doesn't sound like rock to me and he has no history on the format, unlike No Doubt.

Yeah, I suppose you're right about that. Do you have any idea what the alternative golds chart looks like lately?

I wouldn't really classify this as solely a pop song. Sure the production is poppy but Gwen's vocals are probably as rock oriented as they were on songs like "Spiderwebs" and "Just A Girl".

I agree, but her vocals were also that rock on "Hey Baby" and "Hella Good" if you ask me. Yeah, I suppose you're right about that. Do you have any idea what the alternative golds chart looks like lately? Not exactly. Last time I checked I remembered Mumford and Sons being near the top. The last time I saw it, it was still thriving off of '90s rock. I'd imagine much of that is gone now.
