When was the last time a Canadian had a #1 on CHR/POP? Nelly's "Say It Right"? Avril Lavigne was #1 a few months later with "Girlfriend".

I'm surprised there were none in between... would've thought Drake might've had one in there, and while he's had a few top 10's, no #1's.

This song is so catchy its ridiculous, but I got so burnt out after just a few weeks of it. Now the only way I listen to the song by choice is if I'm watching the absolutely hysterical and wonderful video

This is one of the worst #1s ever. A majority of the #1s from 2009 and 2010 would like to say "hello" right about now.

This is one of the worst #1s ever. So, papi, what are the best songs you have in mind that can be share with us? Can you list out any pop songs that reach #1 that are great?

"We Are Young" is atrocious.

All of the songs are equally "atrocious," and all push forward their misleading pro-western messages.

Not sure is Hassan is a satirical novelty account or a sheltered Middle Eastern Iraqi.

"We Are Young" and "Somebody That I Used To Know", in recent memory. I am asking about pop songs. Those two songs are alternative. I think your point is invalid because you personally not a fan of pop genre.

Not sure is Hassan is a satirical novelty account or a sheltered Middle Eastern Iraqi. I'm actually from Qatar. The reason I post on a western message board is to save you all from the evil temptations of Americanized society.

"We Found Love", "Good Feeling", "Set Fire to the Rain", "Glad You Came", and of course, one of the biggest hits this year on my chart, "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)". This year has had some pretty strong #1's, actually.

I personally would rank the songs like this. 1 Call Me Maybe 2 Set Fire to the rain 3 Glad you came 4 stronger 5 good feeling 6 we found love Call Me Maybe's lyric is very simple but it captures the crush feeling that a lot of people have. I just do not understand why you refer to it as a terrible song.

I find the whole thing incredibly obnoxious, not to mention it's been shoved down my throat up here for nearly a year now. If I want songs about crushes, I've got Jennifer Paige.

Jennifer Paige song is so old already. I personally do not understand the reason behind the obnoxious thing. There are many songs overplayed, either you love them or just hate them, it is personal. In your case, you just hate it.

^I can see where he's coming from though. This song basically doubles as a cheesy pick-up line, has a lot of lyrics that don't really make any sense and the fact it is so overplayed makes it even worse.
While it's been one of my favorite pop songs of 2012, I can still see why other people have a problem with it.
