This new single from the Red Hot Chili Peppers debuted Saturday, and my AAA and Alternative stations are playing it nonstop... Seems like an almost definite #1 (Alt/AAA)

I haven't heard this yet, but I will by later on today. What's up with them having such a weird title?

What's up with them having such a weird title? Oh yeah whoops...it's The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie (couldn't fit it in the thread title)

I know! ;D Maybe it's just me, but that seems like a really weird title for a song. This is making a good impact on Alternative, though:
21 RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Adventures Of Rain D... Warner Bros. 2011 581 0 581
On Alternative: 26 RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Adventures Of Rain D... Warner Bros. 2011 461 0 461

This is already up to #3 on Alternative, but I'm not surprised. I can still remember when "Dani California" debuted at #1 and spent 16 weeks there.

I remember that too. I was mad because I wanted Pearl Jam to stay at #1 with World Wide Suicide. Hope this can get to #1 though!

This song is seriously f**king weak ...nowhere near lead single quality.

This is kind of off the wall and mellow, but I don't think I would call it weak. If anything, it fits right in with the rest of Alternative radio right now.
I don't think this should hit #1 on Active, though. The only reason it's as high as it is right now (#7) is because of who sings it.

I can understand why people are disappointed in this, it's not as upbeat as "Dani California" was. I personally really like this song though, especially seeing as most established rock bands that I love have done nothing but disappointed this year *cough* Queensryche *cough*

Did Queensryche even chart? I remember them charting in 2009 but not recently.
I'm not disappointed by this, but then again I'm not really the biggest fan of the band. It's a whole lot better than STP's recent stuff, lol.

Queensryche's new material is too shit to chart. They released a new album a few months ago called Dedicated To Chaos and it's a piece of shit except for like 2 songs. Look up the song "Wot We Do" on YouTube it's seriously one of the worst songs I've ever heard, and this is coming from a HUGE fan of theirs. Operation: Mindcrime is one of my favorite albums.

This is pretty typical goofy Chili Peppers stuff - doesn't really have a point to it, but it's fun to listen to

^Do you prefer their goofy songs over their more serious ones?

^I can't think of many serious RHCP singles - they all seem goofy to me, except for maybe Under The Bridge

^I always thought "Otherside" was very serious because he is talking about suicide. And for some reason, "Soul 2 Squeeze," "Californication," "By The Way" and "Snow" all sound depressing to me. ;D
I guess I should pay more attention to the lyrics which usually don't make any sense.

I'm sure that we all saw this coming from the minute that a new Chili Peppers album was announced, but this is the new #1 song on Alternative:
3 1 RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Adventures Of Rain D... Warner Bros. 2011 1883 1701 182
This song gets better with every listen! The bass line is awesome and the "hey na-na-na-na-now" is undeniably catchy.
