I agree. Besides Apologize, all of Ryan's songs are mediocre to okay at best. Working with him would be a downgrade I disagree. Apologize, Stop and Stare, Bleeding Love? If you think that, poor Kelly. He is the main songwriter for her next album! Well, I said besides Apologize I'm on the fence on Stop and Stare, and I think Bleeding Love is a bad song.

You know how many people don't even know which of Rihanna's albums is the one this comes from? They all think she has been on the same album for 3 years! lol

I think Stop and Stare is great.. the chorus is PERFECT for radio. Bleeding Love is GREAT, and its the reason its doing so well. Its going to be a CLASSIC, its going to be spun for a LONG ass time. lol

I don't agree with that. Sometimes, great songs are hits. Sometimes, bad songs are hits. And vice versa. You can't quantify quality by chart success (or lack of)

That is true.. it all based on taste and opinion.. its just a LOT of people share the same opinion that the song is GREAT.

The chart success is aesthetic, it does not really exhibit anything in regards to the quality of a song. It is actually more masquerading than showing imo. e.g. How many thought Crank That is a musical masterpiece?

Bleeding Love Irreplaceable Both songs deserved the success they got. And I agree that chart success doesnt constitute a good song but it still says a lot of people liked it! And at the end of the day thats really all that matters. Thats what will be talked about for years to come when discussing these artists.. And heres MANY MANY hits from past years that people thought were crap too but really a hit is a hit and people cant disagree all they want, the person is still laughing all the way to the bank and having a song a lot of people like.

not everyone is going to like the same music. its what makes things more interesting. if everyone liked the same songs music would get boring.

New Soul is atrocious, but apparently a lot of people beg to differ. Sober was never even heard. Just cause a song bombs doesn't mean people don't like it, but if a song is a hit, obviously people like it. People don't buy music they find atrocious.

Cause then the opposite of that would be to say that a lot of people didn't like Sober, and I don't know if hat necessarily true.

Sober bombed cause of obvious reasons. And we all know bad songs are hits but if a lot of people like it, it says something; yeah, we dont like it. haha

Cause then the opposite of that would be to say that a lot of people didn't like Sober, and I don't know if hat necessarily true. I always hated how people are criticized for liking a "bad" song. If the song connects to a person on a deeper level so that they like it more than a "good" song, then, to said person, the "bad" song becomes more powerful or better than the "good" song, even if the "bad" song has worse lyrics or what not. Many people liked and thought Crank Dat was a good song. No harm in that. Who are we to judge one's musical tastes? (Unless said musical tastes include..."our song".....)

Sinead O'connor To Write For Rihanna!
Take40.com spoke exclusively with controversial Irish singer Sinead O’Connor today, and she revealed that she could soon be writing the next big hit for pop sensation Rihanna!
We asked Sinead what she thinks of covers and the whole songwriting biz. “You’ll always have people singing other people’s songs, like you know, Rihanna for example - she hasn’t written that song (referring to her current hit ‘Don’t Stop the Music’), do you know what I mean?” Sinead said.
“In fact, I’ve been asked recently would I write some songs for her… so you know, zillions of people are singing other people’s songs every day!”
What sort of song would you write for Rihanna? “I actually have not the slightest idea,” Sinead continued. “They want to send me some backing tracks that they’ve already put together so that’ll be a great help… But I’ve been studying her and I feel daunted actually by it because I don’t know how to write pop songs, no matter how hard I try I cannot write a pop song you know… So it’s a challenge but I have to do it coz my son is in love with her!”
Sinead, who had worldwide success in the early 90s with her hit ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, also told us she really doesn’t like Westlife!
“One of the worst Irish bands ever is Westlife and they don’t write their songs!” Ouch!
Sinead wraps up her Australian tour tonight in Melbourne, and she thinks Australia is, well…. pretty great….
