This ain't a pop song though...hopefully they have a CHR follow-up Top 40 at least wouldn't be too much would it? I guess I'm thinking of Matt Nathanson's performance, and how DMB should have enough leverage to at least chart IMO huge difference between Come On Get Higher and Funny The Way It Is (1)Songs about lovin' have huge advantage on CHR, (2)FTWII has irregular drumbeats and a band-jammin sound to it, and maybe most importantly (3)Matt Nathanson is way younger than Dave Matthews

I don't really think age has that much of a big deal, but I agree with your other reasons.
DMB doesn't need pop support anyways

A lighter I guess, but kind of in the same vein. And I think Matt and Dave are like about the same age. They're both around 40, so I don't know about that being a reason. You would think some CHRs would at least play it though. American Baby I think did at least chart.

"American Baby" peaked at #50 for one week in 2005.
And their ages: Matt is 36. Dave is 42.

This seems to be bigger isn't it?
And that is close enough. They are both in the 40 land lol

Wow ur right about their ages lol (had no idea)...but no Matt's singles aren't big on guitar solos, complex instrumentation, switchin up drumbeats, etc...he's more an acoustic singer/songwriter like John Mayer But naw with the exception of What Would You Say (which was kinda a novelty track I think), Dave only gets big CHR hits with singles about relationships

^Yeah, I agree with you. I don't see this charting at all on CHR.
Their ages may be similar, but Dave is a lot older in the sense that he's been around on the charts since '94 or so (while Matt is a newer artist). Unless it's a star like Mariah or Madonna, anyone who has been around that long isn't really going to be given a chance there.

See, to me John has that funky/bluesy vibe too. I guess Dave is more funky obviously, but I'm thinking that if American Baby could at least chart on pop (even like barely and for like one week LOL), I would expect at least that for this too

^American Baby barely charted on Alternative though...a lot of times for DMB it's either Alternative or CHR (depending on how pop the song is)
About what KP was sayin though weird how bands like Offspring, Weezer, and Chili Peppers have no trouble on CHR after 15-17 years lol (and band members bein in their late 30s/40s)

Although Weezer was kind of an odd story. I thought I remember hearing that "Beverly Hills" in 2005 had been Weezer's first CHR hit since 1995?

I would love for them to hit the top 10, but more stations need to join in. I could settle for #15 though. It should be able to do that.
