What are some songs that were offered to other artists but turned down by them and then later became a huge hit by someone else?
Here are some I can think of...
Show Me Love Baby One More Time Umbrella
Theres some more I know, I just can't think of them. haha

Rachel Stevens - Sweet Dreams My LA Ex was written for Britney Spears. the song, written by Cathy Dennis, were inspired by Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River", which is believed to be aimed at Britney Spears, his ex-girlfriend. Britney turned it down due to its subject matter.

I'm glad she never responded to him.
Jennifer Lopez turned down the part of Christina on the VMA's. Not that it was a huge hit but it could've been so much diffrent with Jenny at it.

Oh. LOL! I just heard she was asked to be in it, and I assumed it was Mya's part. haha Mainly cause she was the only one that wasn't really HUGE in 2001. She had some success, but she wasn't as big as J. Lo, Pink or Christina. haha

And for the record, Jennifer recorded a song with U2 for "This Is Me Then" but it never came out cuz the "time wasn't right". Apparently it's a huge dramatic epic type of U2 song and Jennifer didn't think it'd fit the era.

J LO wouldnt have fit in kissing her so its good it was Christina and Britney.. theyre considered to be Madonnas front runners anyway.

TLC turned down Baby One More Time and we know how that one ended up. TLC also rejected Mary J. Blige's Rainy Dayz.

I don't know if some of these songs would have been hits though if the original didn't turn them down. lol For instance, I don't think TLC would have had a hit with Baby One More Time. But thats me. lol
