I think it's hard to feel emotion in Bleeding Love because the production overpowers it with all those messy beats. The verses don't really build up to a chorus either because BL doesn't really have a real chorus. Just this unmelodic chanting of "I keep bleeding, I keep bleeding, I keep bleeding"

ok...i can understand what youre saying but the rawness of her vocals make the song emotional imo...
and whats your reason for wy apologize isnt a ballad?

Apologize would be closer imo, but even that has some issues with dynamics. The first verse and the build up to that chorus are great, but after that, the song is pretty flat dynamically and doesn't really change. The song really needed a bridge too.

Well, think of those classic ballads you mentioned like Hero, I Will Always Love You, and My Heart Will Go On. Those all have really dynamic moments that build up and soar. Apologize doesn't really have that

IIII think so...and i was also comparing two different eras of music...all of those ballads have a very dated 90's sound to them...
apologize has a 2000's sound to it!

Well you can have dynamics and modern beats too...
So would you consider Irreplaceable, Right Here (Departed), Crush, and Umbrella to be ballads?

Not at all lol. I was just asking you about if you considered those songs ballads to see where you were coming just like you asked if I considered BL and Apologize ballads. You weren't being combative there were you?

Very interesting, I like it.
