As my friend said, "The Grammys can only be considered the capriciously and self-centered way: if the committee nominates artists you like, then it's all good. As a medium of determining and rewarding quality, they make no sense at all." So I guess nothing can be too surprising when it comes to the awards. Album of the Year I hope goes to "In Rainbows," although it just feels so old now, especially by the time it gets to February 2009. It'll probably go to Coldplay though, although its a sad day in music when Colplay is considered better than Radiohead. I While In Rainbows may have been a great album, even brilliant, you have to consider both their status quos, and take them for what it is as well. For Radiohead, have they broadened their horizons significantly? The answer is no to be honest. Coldplay, on the other hand, have been making strides for quite a bit, from Parachutes to Viva La Vida. And having listened to all of their albums, I can definitely say they at least deserve some credit for trying to put out some new tricks. Radiohead, meanwhile, has been actuating parallel formulas from OK Computer for a while now, and ever since Kid A they have subtly retrogressed. Where was the growth from Pablo Honey to Kid A? They're certainly not the type to employ the motto "if it ain't broke, then why fix it?"; they are all about vicissitude and aesthetics. However, right now, it doesn't seem that way; to me, they're just re-treading their paths. Another album like Thief or Rainbows, and I will be a bit disappointed tbh. I don't think it will be such a cataclysmal day when In Rainbows doesn't win Album of the Year; they were at their best with OK Computer, and now Coldplay is at their best with Viva La Vida.

For These Times Martina McBride Track from: Waking Up Laughing [RCA Nashville] What I Cannot Change LeAnn Rimes Track from: Family [Curb Records] Last Name Carrie Underwood Track from: Carnival Ride [19/Arista/Arista Nashville] Last Call Lee Ann Womack [MCA Nashville] This Is Me You're Talking To Trisha Yearwood Track from: Heaven, Heartache And The Power Of Love
Really tough competition on the female country vocal performance category.
Taylor's performance of Brenda Lee's song "I'm sorry" proves my point about her live singing. She did OK with White Horse.
Carrie hands down in that category. if she doesnt win, LeAnn better. or Lee Ann Trisha and Martina's songs are horrid messes

I don't think she'd win anyway. She didn't even get nominated for Pop Vocal.
