I did explain it: The performance started horrible/like any other Taylor performance. She was pushing her vocals majorly at times. Then, she started to get good when she was in the black outfit and on stage until she started trashing about. MESS!

OK i think i figured out why i do not like her songs...whenever she sings, it sounds like she is always pushing. her range is very limited..and its weird because she has a big hand in her writing...don't you think she should be able to write songs she can comfortably sing? PS anyone see that dreadful picture of her in Rolling Stone this week?

Her write up in Time's Most Influential people list. Sounds a bit negative at first ---------------- Taylor Swift By Stevie Nickswww.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1984685_1984940_1985536,00.html When I first got the call from Taylor Swift about performing with her at this year's Grammy Awards, I really didn't want to do it. She's 20 years old, 5 ft. 11 in. and slender; I'm 40 years older and, to be frank, neither of the other two things! I was not about to stand next to this girl on national television. But her little face just lights up like a star, and I couldn't say no. Taylor reminds me of myself in her determination and her childlike nature. It's an innocence that's so special and so rare. This girl writes the songs that make the whole world sing, like Neil Diamond or Elton John. She sings, she writes, she performs, she plays great guitar. Taylor can do ballads that could be considered pop or rock and then switch back into country. When I turned 20 years old, I had just made the serious decision to never be a dental assistant. Taylor just turned 20, and she's won four Grammys. I still walk around singing her song "Today Was a Fairytale." All of us girls want that boy to pick us up and think that we look beautiful even though we're in jeans and clogs. We want it at 14, and we want it at 60. Taylor is writing for the universal woman and for the man who wants to know her. The female rock-'n'-roll-country-pop songwriter is back, and her name is Taylor Swift. And it's women like her who are going to save the music business. Nicks is a multiplatinum-selling solo artist and a member of Fleetwood Mac

Taylor Swift Earns Hall of Fame Honor Taylor Swift is walking through yet another door, becoming the first country songwriter to win the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony in June. Introduced in 2004 to recognize young composers already working at a substantial creative peak, the award’s previous honorees include pop, rock and R&B singer-songwriters Rob Thomas, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, John Legend, John Rzeznik and Jason Mraz. The Starlight Award is named for Songwriters Hall of Fame chief Hal David, who’s a substantial writer himself, known for such titles as Julio Iglesias & Willie Nelson’s “To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before,” Ronnie Milsap’s “It Was Almost Like A Song,” B.J. Thomas’ “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” and Dusty Springfield’s “The Look Of Love.” “Taylor Swift is one of the brightest musical talents to emerge in recent years, and represents the true epitome of the Starlight Award,” Hal says. “She possesses an undeniable talent as a songwriter, expressive singer and performer, and we are proud to present her with this well-deserved honor.” Slated for June 17 at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel, the ceremony will also see the Hall of Fame inductions of Leonard Cohen, Jackie DeShannon, David Foster, Johnny Mandel and five members of Earth, Wind & Fire. All of those writers work primarily outside of country music, though a couple have had some impressive results within the genre. Jackie, best known for her recording of “What The World Needs Now,” earned a country hit in 1994 when Pam Tillis covered “When You Walk In The Room.” David Foster wrote Anne Murray’s 1986 single “Now And Forever (You And Me)” and produced several Kenny Rogers hits, including his 1983 duet with Sheena Easton, “We’ve Got Tonight.” The all-genre Songwriters Hall of Fame has inducted such substantial authors as Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Stevie Wonder. Its membership also includes a number of country figures — Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, Hank Williams and Loretta Lynn, among them. blog.gactv.com/blog/2010/05/11/taylor-swift-earns-hall-of-fame-honor/LEGEND

Fogerty Honored, Swift And RedOne Win At BMI AwardsBMI held its 58th annual Pop Music Awards last night (5/18) at the BEVERLY WILSHIRE HOTEL in LOS ANGELES. JOHN FOGERTY was celebrated as a BMI Icon; LADY GAGA songwriter REDONE claimed his first-ever Songwriter of the Year crown; and "Love Story" earned Song of the Year for its songwriter and recording artist TAYLOR SWIFT and publisher SONY/ATV MUSIC PUBLISHING. At 20, SWIFT is the youngest songwriter ever to win BMI Pop Song of the Year.I cut the rest of the article about Fogerty. But CONGRATS taylor! Huge accomplishment!
