I'm making a thread because the album is seriously whooping everyones ass on the albums charts right now. Week 1: #7 48,453k Week 2: #3 91,369k Week 4: #3 168,050k Total: 307,872K And this week: HDD Weekend Update: Mamma Mia! headed to #1. YOUR MIDSUMMER WEEKEND TOP 10 CHART PREVIEW: We’ve had some atypically big weeks this summer; this will not be one of them. The only album definitely headed for six figures is Decca’s soundtrack to Mamma Mia, which is riding the wave of the movie and should grow to130-140k.

Dreamgirls sold 1.2M in total and took 6 months to tell that.
Mamma Mia has sold 307k in 3 weeks, it is projected to sell at least 2M copies in the US by the end of December.

It's #1 And ironically, apaprently no ABBA album ever went to #1 ' Mamma Mia' Makes Its Move August 13, 2008
MAMMA MIA! Editor: Keith Caulfield; Contributors: Gary Trust, Alex Vitoulis; Editorial Director: Geoff Mayfield
"Honey, Honey," let's talk about a "Super Trouper" of an album. The "Mamma Mia!" soundtrack has been "On And On And On" the Billboard 200 for a month already and this week, "The Winner Takes It All," as the set finally hits No. 1. "Thank You for the Music" indeed! ... Last week's chart topper, Sugarland's "Love on the Inside," slips to No. 3, while Miley Cyrus' "Breakout" holds at No. 2 ... Meanwhile, Lloyd and Heidi Newfield start in the top 10 while Keith Anderson, Conor Oberst and Trapt bow in the top 20 ... We've also got updates on Randy Newman, Lewis Black, the Faint and more.
FLASH POINTS
• It's all about ABBA this week. The soundtrack to "Mamma Mia!" climbs from No. 3 to No. 1 in its fifth chart week to crown the Billboard 200 for the first time (131,000; down 5%). It's the second theatrical soundtrack to reach No. 1 this year, following "Juno" back in January ... When was the last time the Billboard 200 saw two theatrical film soundtracks reach No. 1 for the first time in the first eight months of the year? Way back in 1998, when "Titanic," "City of Angels" and "Armageddon" all climbed to the top. (If you guessed 2003, you weren't far off. While both "8 Mile" and "Bad Boys II" were No. 1s that year, "8 Mile" first hit No. 1 in late 2002.)
• Get this: ABBA has never had a top 10 album on the Billboard 200. The pop act's highest charting set is 1978's "The Album," which peaked at No. 14 ... As a consolation, ABBA can look to any number of other Billboard charts this week and find themselves at No. 1. Why look, on Top Pop Catalog albums, its their greatest hits package "Gold" at No. 1 with 33,000 (up 37%). Over on Top Internet Albums, the "Mamma Mia!" soundtrack is tops with 5,000 and a 30% increase. But wait, there's more. Obviously, "Mamma Mia!" is No. 1 on Top Soundtracks, but over on Top Cast Albums, the Original Cast Recording of the stage musical "Mamma Mia!" continues to reign at No. 1 (8,000; down 13%).
