All these albums had hit single after hit single after hit single. For some reason, all their 4th singles not only continued their streaks, but they stood out from the other hits off the album. Which 4th single is the best?
Kelly Clarkson 'Because of You'-After a huge hit streak with 'Breakaway,' 'Since U Been Gone,' and 'Behind These Hazel Eyes,' this song pretty much blew all those out of the water worldwide and even in the U.S (debatable when comparing it to SUBG though)
Mariah Carey 'Don't Forget About Us'-After the massive 'We Belong Together,' and the fluffy 'Shake It Off,' this single off of the re-release kept her momentum going and made her score another Hot 100 #1.
Pussycat Dolls 'Buttons'-This song kinda came out of nowhere. The first two singles 'Don't Cha' and 'StickwitU' were huge Top 40 hits, but the third, 'Beep' was a fluke. This one was released after and it ended up becoming their biggest hit to date.
Justin Timberlake 'Summer Love'-Lets be honest here, no one ever expected this one to be the big hit it became. After 'What Goes Around' the hype for his album sort of died down. The label didn't even plan on releasing this and it just sort of took off on it's own! Amazing!
Fergie 'Big Girls Don't Cry'-Without a doubt the biggest hit on the album. After her three hit punch with 'London Bridge' 'Fergalicious' and 'Glamorous,' everyone expected this one to fit right in with them. Instead, it BLEW UP bigger than anyone ever anticipated, and returned her album all the way back to #2, 1 year after her release.
Rihanna 'Don't Stop the Music'-Another runaway pop hit. The label didn't really plan for this one to be released in the states. The album had lost huge momentum after The 'Umbrella' storm died down, and the bland 'Shut Up and Drive' and 'Hate that i Love You' were released. This one began receiving airplay on it's own until the label was finally forced to give it an official add date, and it took off from there.
Chris Brown 'Forever'-I'm surprised Chris Brown has made it this far with his latest album. After the big flop 'Wall to Wall' everyone thought he'd need to re-strategize...but then came 'Kiss Kiss' and 'With You' which were huge hits. This one re-energized the era with it being on the re-release.
