Another single from them:
It's pretty boring if you ask me, and I am confused by the talking at the end.

Well, I like it more than "American Noise" that's for sure. I think with the talking they were trying to pull another "Looking For Angels" type song but it didn't really work as well. I think Skillet hit their peak with Comatose, but because it was so great they didn't slide super far with Awake. But now it's evident that they'll never hit the greatness they had with Comatose again. John Cooper's voice is sounding really really rough too. It's always had that quality, but it's sounding really bad now.

Pretty uneventful. But in contrast with Dance Or Die, I like his rough voice <3

The rough voice surprises me. I thought usually those kinds of changes to a vocalist were caused by smoking cigarettes or doing other drugs...neither of which John Cooper does.

He tends to scream a lot during concerts. I've always liked his voice, but I've also always thought he doesn't quite know how to use it properly. I'm guessing just over 10 years of concerts and singing have damaged his voice in ways.

Sorry for the late reply, but I'm guessing you're right. Constantly abusing your vocal cords like that can probably do a lot of damage, especially when you do it live.

After finally getting a chance to listen to the album in full, I have to say that I really like this song now. It does serve as a good opener for the album. The album itself is also pretty good, but it's built as a concept album which is why the songs don't sound as great outside of the album. I'd say the album was about the same level as Awake, but it's hard to listen to any of the songs separate because of the outros attached to a lot of them that serve as intros/transitions into the next track. It's better than I was expecting though.
