Protest The Hero left their label and made a video explaining why after three successful albums, they are still pretty much broke due to labels. They asked via their Facebook page on Tuesday for donations to fund their next studio album, since they don't have the money to do it, nor a label. Their goal was to raise $125,000, and as of about 24 hours later, the fans have donated about $170,000! Holy sh*t! Donations page, with the video: www.indiegogo.com/protesttheheroTheir thanks:

Nothing against this, but there are better things to donate money to.

Theoretical: Would you give $25 to your favourite band or Africa?
Africa always wants money. And what has Africa ever done for you? Also, will you get to see any results from your $25?
Your favourite band asks for money one time. They will put out a new album due to donations, and your name will be in the liner notes.

Haha, I know. It's meant to be. Dry humour is hard to get across on the internet, usually. Sorry if it came off wrong. But in more realistic terms, if you've got some money to spare, and you want a new album, you're gonna pay for it. Even a donation of $10 gets you the album anyway which, if you were honest, you would pay anyway.
