Skillet had been a big band on the Christian scene for many years, but their 2009 album Awake shot them to new heights. Not only did the band gain an even larger Christian fanbase, but the band gained mainstream appeal with four of their singles hitting the rock airwaves.
Now the band, with a new lead guitarist, is working on the follow-up album. It is due out in September.
