Norah and Alicia are like for different audiences though None of the Pop/R&B diva singles have won in recent years. If Crazy In Love, We Belong Together, Irreplaceable, Yeah, Umbrella couldn't win, I can't see this getting it. And you're comparing upbeat shit (Yeah!, Crazy In Love) to a slower more melodic song like Bleeding Love. Two different genre's. BL is something Alicia Keys could sing.

I think they're all close enough. It's not like voters flocked towards WBT or Irreplaceable either
I dunno if I would say Bleeding Love is that melodic, but We Belong Together and Irreplaceable are pretty melodic and they didn't win, plus they're midtempo too.
And if you look at the recent history of ROTY, they do lean a certain way.

Yeah. I can see that but I feel like its an obvious choice along with Viva La Vida, but I feel like Bleeding Love is more obvious because it was everywhere, it was #1 for 8 weeks.

Definitely like Snow Patrol's version wayy better. Her voice doesn't fit the song at all.

Yeah 2003 was like the strongest ROTY list this decade. Hey Ya, Where Is The Love, Crazy In Love, and Lose Yourself, and Coldplay still won then and they weren't even as big back then.

Lose Yourself was totally robbed. That song had a huge cultural impact. It still to this day is very popular at graduations and even still selling 7-8K a week on iTunes.

Other way around I don't think No One can get nominated this year. It was already nominated for some awards last year

It's going to be a big fight between Bleeding Love and Viva la Vida. Looking at it Bleeding Love was more immensely popular and more successful than Viva La Vida, but Viva La Vida had more critical acclaim.
it's a tough one.

You're really confident in BL lol Anything could happen, but at this point I don't see it happening. Like I said, look at the past Grammy winners in recent times. The Grammys are "biased" towards rock songs or songs with "rock appeal". BL could buck the trend, but I just don't see it happening. And compared to some of the big #1s nominated in the past, it wasn't as big.

I heard it way too much for it to be passed by. It reminds of the year Norah & Alicia dominated. Alicias song dominated the airwaves that year. Norah had the critical acclaim and was the one with the word of mouth. I feel like the Jan-June, all I heard was Bleeding Love and people promoting Leona as the next big superstar and all. I feel like while I heard the song a bit (mostly in adverts) it just doesn't have that feel of a song of the year. Yeah the grammys have trended in a certain way in the past, but I feel like BL is wayyyyyyy too big of a monster for even the grammys to subdue it. I dunno that's just me.

I think IKAG could be nommed, but it's sort of borderline.

really? i just dont see that being recognized as one of the best songs of the year. sure its catchy but it should not win any awards for being amazing.

I think IKAG had the "controversial" subject matter too that made it stand out too
