www.rollingstone.com/music/news/e....-at-69-20110618"Clarence Clemons, the legendary saxophonist in the E Street Band who played alongside Bruce Springsteen for the past 40 years, died on June 18th. Clemons had suffered a massive stroke on June 12th. While initial signs had been hopeful after his hospitalization and two subsequent brain surgeries, he reportedly took a turn for the worse later in the week. He was 69."

R.I.P. It's always sad to see someone lose their life in that type of manner. He's a musician that I didn't know by name, even though I knew who he was musically. Bruce concerts will never be the same.

^ It's very eerie that his last performance to date, was The Edge Of Glory one on american idol. He also appears in GaGa's TEOG video that was filmed a few weeks ago before his stroke. The 3 songs that he contributed to on her album are The Edge Of Glory, Hair and Highway Unicorn (Road To Love).

Wow, I knew about his stroke earlier in the week but I still didn't expect this. R.I.P. In the mid-80's he had a song with Jackson Browne called "You're A Friend Of Mine". It was a decent song but I particularly remember the video for being really cheesy, in a good way though.

R.I.P. He will truly be remembered for helping shape the sound of Bruce Springsteen's music. "You're A Friend of Mine" was a pretty good song too, and I'm glad he did get some final exposure on Lady GaGa's songs.
