If you think this would have been more of or even "a" pop hit with Nelly and Trina youre sadly mistaken. Not gona happen. lol Trina might make a cool remix but I dont see her and Nelly having a pop hit.. Fergie gives the song more of a chance on Pop than Trina would, Nelly is hard enough right now.

LOL! Yeah I get that but Im just sayin even if it was Trina it would have gone no where. lol Way more of a chance on Pop with Fergie. The song isnt all that great imo anyway, I loved the video though.

Oh I know.. but what I'm saying is that I think Jake was talking about the Fergie & Trina song. Not Nelly & Fergie. Trina & Fergie might have done better actually. Cause like it was stated, it would have been labeled as Fergie's song.

Ok wait, this was originally Fergie and Trina not Trina and Nelly? lol That would have been cool then. lol I would like the difference of those two artists compared to T&N, I thought it was N&T orginally and imo it wouldnt have done anything on Pop.
Sorry for misunderstanding if thats the case. haha

LOL! Yeah, it was originally Fergie & Trina. But I'm still not sure if Jake meant it would be better as in his preference, or if it would be better as in DO better. lol

I think it would do better if it was Fergie F/Trina. A Fergie-lead single, thats upbeat, does better at Pop radio than anything, and a fiery verse from Da Baddest B*tch herself would have just made it better and given her some more Pop cred (she has some after Here We Go hit #19 on Pop).
Oh and BTW.....
HELL THE F*CK NO!
Billboard's Review
Party People NELLY FEATURING FERGIE Producer(s): Polow Da Don Label: Dertty/Universal With a consistent style and energy all his own, Nelly has delivered 11 top 10 dance jams at R&B, including No. 1s "Hot in Herre," "Dilemma" with Kelly Rowland and "Call On Me" with Janet Jackson. On "Party People," the second single from upcoming "Brass Knuckles," he sticks to the winning formula, with an upbeat track from Polow Da Don, guest vocals from Fergie and verses effectively chopped and screwed. But the standout here, aside from his usual slang and charisma, is Nelly's clever double-time flow with a single rhyme scheme in the third verse. Fergie's accompanying rap hardly measures up alongside Nelly's, but radio's indefatigable devotion to her will help propel the track at pop. An imminent remixed version featuring Lil Kim will better convince the streets. Either way, Nelly's mass-appeal invitation will rally all sides to this "Party."—Shad Reed
