I just heard this and it's awesome! William DuVall sounds a lot like Layne Staley on this track. It's 2009, and this is the closest thing to grunge that you're gonna get. On Active Rock: 40 ALICE IN CHAINS Check My Brain 216 - 216 1.109 On Mainstream Rock: 30 ALICE IN CHAINS Check My Brain 36 - 36 0.186 On Alternative: 43 ALICE IN CHAINS Check My Brain 245 - 245 1.820

This is already top 30 on active...looking great. 28 ALICE IN CHAINS Check My Brain 442 - 442 2.013 I have to say, I'm a bit surprised that it's doing about the same on alternative...I didn't expect it to blow up this quick there after "A Looking In View" totally flopped... 29 ALICE IN CHAINS Check My Brain 432 - 432 3.071 ...And of course, it has the biggest bullet on the mainstream rock chart! 21 ALICE IN CHAINS Check My Brain 75 - 75 0.344

This is very Nirvana-y, isn't it? Straight out of the 90's.

^Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
This has got to be on of the most "grunge" songs on the radio in awhile. I remember when I first listened to "Drift & Die" by Puddle of Mudd I thought it was from the 90s (I heard it was originally recorded on a 90s album of theirs).

Really surprising that it's Top 10 on Alternative and even higher on Alternative than Active Rock Yeah, these guys have always done better on Rock. It looks like it still might end up peaking higher on rock, though. It being top 10 on alternative doesn't surprise me really because a lot of stations thrive off of 90s rock.

But even when they were popular, they didn't do that well on Alt, so it's very surprising in that aspect

"Man In the Box" and "Rooster" did not chart on alternative back in the early 90s, but they are now staples on alternative stations. And they have gotten as high as #3 on alternative with "No Excuses".

Really? That sounds really weird. That sounds like a song that doesn't chart on like say Pop in the 90s, but is a suddenly a staple nowadays.

^Yeah, but you know how Top 40 stations are. They hardly play anything from the 90s at this point. Hot AC is definitely like that, though. And I just found out, "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam didn't even crack the top 20 on Alt back in '91. And you know that's a huge staple nowadays.

There was a much bigger gap between how these guys between the two charts.
