New first single from the Sugbabes.
A snippet has leaked.
It's shit. Really laughably bad. They've basically lost everything that made them brilliant now.

Well then maybe they'll get the "mall" reference - as though Heidi walks through malls. It's SUPERMARKETS here dear.
I don't think it'll be a hit in the US though - it's bland and doesn't stand out. American's love British singers who are a bit different - Amy, Adele etc. and this will just get lost in a sea of faceless generic R&B -lite singers in the US.

Were you a Sugababes stan before Cows?

ROFL. Yes I liked them when they were actually good (ie. before Amelle and Change and C&S). They used to be edgy and innovative, probably moreso even than GA, but they're nothing special now - they're generic and unremarkable and desperate. I wanted a comeback on the level of "Freak Like Me" and instead we got this. I mean they don't even sing the chorus in it! Just some guy singing how all the guys want to touch him LMAO. I think I'm over them.

I shall hold a candle to someday hope that they will record something as brilliant as About You Now again

"About You Now" was certainly generic with that Dr. Luke production but at least it was insanely catchy. This is just, urgh. It doesn't even sound like a hit, so this could very well be the end of the Sugababes. (Even though they basically dies when Mutya left.)

Mutya sucks, isn't she doing porn now? or is she solo? I forgot.

Well, have you seen the pop chart lately? And generic R&B can win here. Look at Bleeding Love. And the "cool kids" hang out at the supermarket there?

Who the f**k hangs out at a supermarket? Shit the kids here don't even hang out at the malls here.

I'm sure it'll do fine in the UK, look at Mr. Tinchy. Why are you writing them off after hearing 90 seconds of the 1st single.. They already tried the throwback sound with C+S(which was a commercial failure), so I don't really mind them trying a 'current' sound. I actually really like the snippet, and I'd take this over 'The Promise' any day!!!

PJ Review
A new Sugababes single is always a reason to get excited and their new track, 'Get Sexy', is a big, fearsome explosion of a pop record. At first listen it sounds quite aggressive and adventurous which, in a post-'Bonkers'-at-Number-One, post-'Boom Boom Pow'-at-Number-One world, it's really not; pop changes its sound as the years go by and if they're clever so do pop groups. Sonically this is just what the Sugababes needed after the wet Wednesday of their last album campaign - a campaign which despite an album we loved seemed to chime so badly with fans that the band looked like they were on the brink of something not very good at all.
After all that we'd kind of wanted the band to take a year off for 2009 but with one major British girlgroup notable by absence from this autumn's release schedules it makes sense for Sugababes to storm ahead. Followers of the band's - particularly Keisha's - Twitter pages will have a fair idea already of what's to come from the new album and fans received a surprise this weekend when a clip of 'Get Sexy' leaked online ahead of its Radio One debut tomorrow.
Well, the clip was a very early demo; the clip that leaked gives you a general feel for things but one major change is that while some of the male vocals remain (in the verses' call-and-response portions) the girls now sing the song's a massive bridge, whose lyrics are now based on Right Said Fred's 'I'm Too Sexy': "cos I'm too sexy in this club, too sexy in this club, so sexy it hurts". There's also a fantastic middle eight built around a playful chant of "if I had a dime (dime) for every single time (time) these boys stop and stare, I'd be a billionaire".
It's a confusing listen - to these ears the verses are terrible and trite while everything else in the song is just totally brilliant and exciting. The ups and downs are frustrating; here's what the listening experience at Popjustice HQ looks like.

I know who they are. I haven't heard the song, but it is probably like all of their others: trash.

You are just a postwhore, who obviously can't follow the rules. You need to listen to a song before saying its trash and since the finalized master hasn't leaked, you have no room to talk.
