# Artist Song Points Peak
1 Ke$ha We R Who We R 9200 1 [2] 2 Taylor Swift Mean 4200 2 3 Rihanna Who's That Chick 2800 3 4 Katy Perry Firework 2200 2 5 Rihanna What's My Name 1400 5 6 Rihanna Only Girl (In The World) 1000 1 [1] 7 The Pierces Save Me 600 7 8 Britney Spears 3 500 1 [7] 9 Britney Spears Womanizer 500 1 [7] 10 P!nk Raise Your Glass 500 6
Notes: Ke$ha continues to dominate for the second week in a row, with an increase from her massive bullet of 1900 points, while Taylor bows at a debut at no.2 becoming her biggest hit on the chart where Love Story (no.4), and You Belong With Me (no.5) bowed previously. Who's That Chick and Fireworks also show strong strides in points, and Only Girl (In The World) further proves it's consistency this week. Indie shout out this week to 'The Pierces' early single Save Me which comes in at #7, Britney and P!nk round out the rest of the top ten with 3, Womanizer, and Raise Your Glass.

Totally forgot about The Pierces until now. I remember hearing Secret..like 3 years ago, and I was intrigued but never got round to hearing more from them. I just listened to Save Me, and it's definitely decent. At the least, it's nice to hear them something more normal since Secret was like some sort of a weird creepy carnival song.

I'm kinda surprised to see P!nk on your chart. Why? P!nk is one of my most played artists. She's actually my 4th biggest artist on my Last.Fm chart, and she was also the fourth artist to go diamond on my play chart as well. I'm still kind of at a loss as to why I like that song so much from her. I think it may have to do with the subject matter, and I also think it may just be that I find it to be incredibly breezy and just overall fun to listen to with a bit of a message to it. It kind of reminds me musically of Underwood's "Quitter". I was shocked to find my self liking a Taylor song so much on an initial listen. She probably would have gotten her first #1 if not for Ke$ha. The Pierces have had a very weird career. They were pretty much ignored initially when they first came on the scene in 2000 my guess is there just was no room for them in such a competitive climate, and indie music then wasn't really cool since the pop explosion, and all. Then they kept releasing music I think they released an album in 2005, and I think just now they started to get some buzz back due to the interest from their songs being used on Gossip Girl. I got into Save Me through the show Roswell, though.
