"Fifteen" did pretty good though. I think at first it looked like it killed momentum, but the song went top 10 on country right? And it seemed to go top 10 on CHR, but stalled at the last second. I think it peaked at like #13? and the single sold like a million copies..
I think the real problem was the re-release. That should have never happened, or just been delayed. I think she could have easily picked up momentum again after Fifteen because of Grammy nominations/performances/etc. But the re-release, and this soundtrack single...things jut seemed to get sloppy, and it seemed like the label didn't care because the album already sold over 5 million in the US.

the re-release helped the album if anything.... it boosted sales to back over 100k
it would have sold way less over the holidays if it hadn't been re-released

The re-release definitely helped. The bad thing about the re-release is that the songs on it sucked. If they would have released a song off of the re-release as a single that was actually good, then it would haev made album sales bigger and then "fifteen" could still have been cut.
and DJ, "Fifteen" did fine as a single, I'm just saying it would have been smarter to release something else because I'm almost certain 4 or 5 singles on her album would have performed better on country, pop, and digitally.

eh i still think this era could have been done better. i know it did amazing, but i think this album could have really been an even bigger monster with more planning for singles, re-releases, etc

White Horse was never released to pop and at you trying to compare Fearless to the best-selling female album of all time.

I never knew "That Don't Impress Me Much" and "Man I Feel LIke A Woman" (arguably her two most well known songs) neither hit #1 on Pop or Country

Country radio was never really a big fan of Shania, they thought she was too pop and was too sexy for country. She was also the first country female artist to show her stomach. In a way you can call her the "Madonna" of country music.

I thought You're Still The One was more of her signature tune

she was supposed to be a ditzy cheerleader and she came across just like one. Are you actually surprised by the reactions here? lol This board is filled wit da haters. Based on the clip I think her performance is going to be just fine; it's not amazing but it's not horrible as some would have everyone believe. Either way, this is not the type of role that is going to give anyone a good idea of her acting capabilities.

Well when anyone gets big enough, there are always haters anywhere. That said though, I think her acting was decent and she definitely got the ditzy cheerleader vibe down, but I think the script took a bit away from her performance. A note was somehow flung into her hair, and stayed there until night?

Well when anyone gets big enough, there are always haters anywhere. They seem to be especially prominent on the boards I frequent though (Pulse and here). It probably seems that way here because the board has a select number of regulars and a good 60% of those regulars have the tendency to frequently hate on Taylor. lol

BTW I thought she was singing this on the Grammys so how in the hell did she end up doing a duet with Stevie Nicks?

Are you not familiar with what a spitball is? I know what they are, but I've had never had them stuck in my hair. I guess you have? Are they that strong?
