After the dismal reception to the (horrible) "It's Only," RCA Nashville has switched Gokey's first single to this uptempo.
Still sucks.

barely! hopefully it wont last much longer. Moving up 3 spots in 5 weeks is not very good. Especially when its below the top 40. this won't go much farther.

I hate country radio. I will never look at a country chart again. Its so bipolar and all country radio is playing is crap lately. The few good country songs out now are either by format superstars (so they are getting played) or by D list country acts that don't get hardly any radio play. I'm done with country radio.

Every so often there is a glimpse of true country music that shines through on Country radio, but until I stop turning on the radio and hearing shit by Billy Currington or Blake Shelton I will no longer support country radio. And to think I actually aspired to pursue a career in this genre for most of my life and I thought up until recently thats what I really wanted to do. but now I really don't know what to do, because i could not handle dealing with shitty music like current country music every day.

Well in a long shot I kinda wanted to be a musician, but I haven't had the patience to learn guitar or piano and I really need to do that to be a country musician, same with songwriting. And now I've kinda thought of music business. I'm thinking that may be the way to go. Then maybe I can place a trampoline under country music falling from a cliff where it once stood and shove it back up to where it belongs.
But I really don't know anymore. Recently, with delivering the sermon at my church and singing in my churches praise and worship band, I've thought about becoming a Christian musician. I really don't know what to do though. The genre I once felt so passionately about it falling apart and it is really depressing to me. I just don't know what to do anymore.

I think whatever you do you'll be successful...your grades make mine and DJ's look like a 3rd grade dropout from south of the border. I know you love music, but do you have any interests outside of it?

Not really. Music is pretty much all I enjoy to do. But I don't know what I want to do in it. I love singing and performing, but don't have the patience for guitar and piano, but i HAVE to learn both of those in order to be a song writer. But I'm still not sure that's what I want to do. I have mutual friends with Brad Paisley's manager (my best friends' parents are great friends with Brad's manager) and I've met him a time or two. We are going to Callaway Garden with my friend and her family this summer and Brad's manager's family will be there too so it will be my time to maybe learn what he does and if I had any interest in that.
And actually, my top pick for college is Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where Brad Paisley and Bill (Brad's manager) both went to and Bill was the one who first told me about Belmont. So maybe if I end up in Nashville, he could hook me up with a job or internship so I could see what really goes on in the music business.

guitar isn't that hard, once you learn the basic chords you're pretty much set as far as songwriting goes
