Upon dumping tyrant Tommy Muttola (that guy she still has nightmarish "side effects" over), Mariah released "Butterfly," an album that marked a change for her as she gained control over her image and sound. Its commercial success failed to reach the stellar heights of its predecessors, yet it remains a lamb favorite.
It has one of my favorite MC songs of all times: "The Roof."

I prefer Daydream, Emotions, MusicBox and E=MC^2 over this. This is still one of her better albums. Honey and My All are both great tracks

The Roof is clearly the best song on the album, followed by Breakdown, My All, and Honey.

THE SINGLES FROM THIS ALBUM WERE f**kING AMAZING. HONEY. MY ALL. BREAKDOWN. THE ROOF. BUTTERFLY. WHENEVER YOU CALL. ALL ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TUNES. The album tracks were kinda boring though

Breakdown, My All, Outside, The Roof... so many good songs! I never loved the album, but think that with some exceptions, the album is very good! Not as good as Memoirs, but good
