I kind of think so as well, only because YBWM kind of got drowned out in a mess of summer/fall songs.

I feel like Need You Now is still on the rise. Like it's big chart wise but doesn't "feel" that big in real life.

It feels like a monster in real life. I can't believe how big it is.
Huge iTunes sales, Monster album sales, Airplay explosive on CHR which is SUPER rare, high profile performance on the Grammys.
this is one of the biggest songs in recent times

Well your perception of real life seems to veer differently at times But really, iTunes sales and album sales really didn't figure into most the perception of most people's real lives

iTunes figures in to most people's real lives more than ever. either way, pop radio, the #1 format and this song is top 8 and shows no signs of slowing down that is huge, so it doesn't really matter what you think

Album sales don't figure into peoples live though, and iTunes does not figure in to peoples live the way you're implying.
Again, the song is big chartwise, no one argued otherwise. But I'm still not seeing evidence of it being big in people's real lives yet. It's on the rise, but not quite there yet. And in the end, that kind of thing isn't a precisely concrete feeling anyway. It obviously is going to differ by area and person.

well in Michigan is big in people's real lives
and a country song that goes top 10 is huge no matter what. only a handful of songs have ever done it in a decade.

This song is HUGE right now. I heard this on the radio 3 times yesterday when i was in my dads car. This is miles better than YBWM, so I hope it can become the bigger hit. The way its headed right now, it sure looks like its possible.

It'll be #1 on 4 formats, #1 on 3 of them simultaneously.
It'll be #1 on the Hot 100, #1 in Overall airplay.
I think it's destined to be a bigger hit than YBWM without even questioning it, sorry Swift stans.

Swift never really had a moment with YBTM...it all seemed to happen at different times. Maybe it was following VMAs w/ Kanye...but that seemed so forced. it was because people pittied her.
this just keeps haing moments...and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. It is one of three songs I hear on NY radio....and I can NEVER remember in my lifetime a country song ever being "ONE" of THOSE three song you always hear.

First, let me begin by saying those who are trying to claim that You Belong With Me was anything other than a massive success are incredibly delusional and frankly mildly retarded (though some negativity being thrown around I'm not so surprised by *Brian/Jake/Joel*). Need You Now is also a huge hit in its own right, but I don't think it has reached the You Belong With Me level yet (not to say that it won't). Maybe that's because You Belong With Me's video was a huge success, the song itself was massive in regard to radio, digital performance, as well as critically (major Grammy nominations anyone?), and it did so without remixing to every format (which, I have no issue with, it was just a missed opportunity by Taylor's team). At this point, I think certain members here are just jumping on the comparisons so quickly because they are just sitting around and literally waiting for someone to "outperform" Taylor or "steal her thunder" (because of insanely obvious resentment they hold for her). What these members fail to realize is that the success of Lady Antebellum or any other country crossover isn't going to make Taylor's success any less impressive or extraordinary. She's already had two massive crossover hits and has nothing to prove to anyone at this point. Let's all try to grow up, quit acting like we're freaking six years old, and realize there is enough success to go around without diminishing the accomplishments of someone else. This just might be asking too much for a few of you, as you're hellbent on remaining four-year-old-bitchy-queens. I am speaking pretty bluntly here, but it's the truth.
BTW I have no issues with people comparing the two songs and their success; it's all about the intention behind the comparisons for me. If someone is just generally interested in comparing the two, without malicious intent for one act or the other, then that's great. Sadly, we are all well aware this isn't the case for some here. That's what I take issue with. People who twiddle their thumbs waiting to S**t on someone's success out of pure bitterness. It's a really sad look.

I love how Will just posts every so often to defend some artist(s) or argue against something But I agree with you. I don't think every person you named denied that YBWM was a huge hit, because it obviously was. It is on my list of about 15 songs that radio has overplayed so ridiculously I still have to change the station every time it comes on (Bleeding Love, Apologize, Addicted, Bad Romance, etc). It was obviously a huge hit on several formats. But I do think that all this Swift hating needs to stop. I think its fine if people express their feelings about songs/artists, but saying something negative every time the artist/song is brought up is unacceptable. If you don't like Taylor, fine. But please don't bash them. I'm pretty sure there is a rule against trolling on this board, and its gotten way out of control lately mainly on the subjects of Taylor Swift and Lady GaGa.

I love how Will just posts every so often to defend some artist(s) or argue against something I actually view the forum weekly, but I just don't post a lot. Someone needed to address the ridiculous behavior that is ever-so-frequently taking place. I view the forum, maybe (at most) twice a week, and literally every time I do the same members are exhibiting the same petty behavior. I bet I could take a year-long break, come back, and still see the same shit. lol Said childish behavior is exactly what made me distance myself from the forum in the first place. I keep coming back in hopes that a few here will grow up (which leaves me with nothing but disappointment). Pulse and other forums have their fair share of immature members as well, but here it just seems to be really magnified (absolutely intolerable) because the of the board's size. I realize some may feel like my posts are unnecessarily blunt, but it's the only way one can get his or her point across here.

LMFAO @ Will acting like because we can't stand Taylor we must be *Elephunk Track 3* No dear, I said those who are trying to downplay You Belong With Me's success or trying to make it out like it wasn't a huge hit is r e t a r d e d. Sylvan ain't doin you any favors is it boo. I never said it wasn't a big hit. I'm trying to say it was a hit on different formats but at different times whereas this is lining up to be big on 3 big formats all at the same time. YBWM peaked on Country and Pop @ #1 but at different times, not simultaneously. It didn't go to #1 on Hot AC, it barely skimmed Top 5. It hit #1 on AC well after it had started its descent on Pop. NYN peaked at Country at #1 months ago. The difference is, NYN is going to be #1 on Pop, Hot AC & AC all at the same time (for at least 1 week). It may not be iconic wise but you have to remember Lady Antebellum hasn't appeal to 8 year olds and the young adult set as Taylor has. They aren't big tween/Teen idols either. The difference between the two is, Lady Antebellum is more of a genuine country crossover in that they don't have this huge fanbase of 8-80 year olds. They didn't have the inevitability that Taylor had behind her. The song found its own life, albeit behind a SINGLE Pop Remix that added a few more rockier/pop elements (as Taylor's songs have). I don't know where saying NYN is being remixed for every format is coming from, because it got one single Pop Mix that radio is playing. The dance remixes aren't for radio, much like Mike Rizzo's unreleased YBWM mixes were never meant for radio play. I'm just saying NYN and YBWM are equally bigger hits but NYN is working to be a bigger hit in that it will most likely end up at #1 on the Hot 100, not confirmed but its likely to happen. And please honey, I don't have to attend Sylvan. I've carried a 3.7 since freshman year of High school and currently have a 4.0, but I don't like to brag because I'm not insulting other people's IQ's, that's you.

I’m not even going to begin having a back and forth with you over anything regarding Taylor. To do so, I would have to believe you carried some level of objectivity (which in itself is like arsenic to someone like you) and would be worth the time. The stink of excessive bias can be smelled a mile away in all of your posts related to her. Whether you’re bluntly stating you “can’t stand her” or trying to hide negativity behind a cloud of transparency it all reads the same to me. I really can’t stand to use the word hater, because I feel it is misused and overused all the time, but there is simply no better way to describe you at this point.
Also, you’re not into insulting other people’s IQ’s? Are we being even remotely serious? I’ve read through your posts over the past few years and I can’t think of any point where you haven’t used insults as the primary way to counteract most arguments. Hell, I’ve read posts where you’ve campaigned for a member to kill himself. Jake, your posts are like piles of shit on the yard of Media Source. Sure, I could step over the mounds, but at some point I’m going to get tired of the mess (cue my post yesterday). At this point, I’m not going to act like I even have the desire to indulge what you’re trying to act as if you have (any level of maturity).

I think its funny how you only come around when its most convenient or when you feel the need to stan it up for Taylor Swift. I'm gonna start off by laughing because I'm sorry if you can't handle the truth, you go on the defensive and its suddenly take the high road? HAHA. #SITYOASSDOWN And the difference between you insulting my intelligence and my behavior are two completely different things. I'm sorry if I'm a completely driven, cocky individual. People call me a bitch like its a bad thing. I'm sorry if I'm in total control of myself. I don't let random people bring me down, I don't let insignificant individuals get in my way because really, who are they to dictate me. The member in question of the 'suicide' remarks is DJ. Masking it like its someone random is therefore alienation. Me and DJ have had our differences in the past but we work these things out. We both say things that are out of line but they are meant to be because when you need to hit someone hard, you go hard. I don't sugar coat s hit for anyone. I don't have kids, I am not a babysitter, nobody is sucking on my titty. I am not here to be everyone's best friends. I am not here to be me 'Natalie Nice' or 'Perky Pete'. I could give two flying sh ts about what anyone here thinks of me because at the end of the day, I am a strong, unwilling to change individual. I am hard headed, I am a Type A agressive individual. This is the funniest section to me because the only one acting like an immature child is you. You're the one slinging the word 're tard' around on people who disagree with you constantly simply because they aren't overdosing on the drug that is 'Taylor Swift'. Difference between me and them is I will call you out on your antics and plain bulls hit. I also think its funny how you wanna try and get at me. You're not bad, you're a sad little wannabe.
