I don't see what's unusual about that. It's no different from pop where artists can have one single in the Top 10 and then have another single climbing at the same time.
The only real unusual case is Beyonce because her singles were actually meant for different formats, but Beyonce has such a strong urban base that her pop single was able to get some urban play.

that is why the Country chart is the best. artists wait until their previous single falls off the chart to announce a new single, let alone have it officially released
