My favourite line of the song: "That magic in your pant is making me blush, you know".

Yeah, and unlike the "whiskey dick" line in P!nk's song, it can be played on American radio.

Yeah, and unlike the "whiskey dick" line in P!nk's song, it can be played on American radio. I've never even listened to that song long enough to know that line exists.

I don't blame you! I didn't notice the line until I had to play it on the school station just about every single time I'm on. I'd much rather play this.

The video came out yesterday:
Ke$ha always gives you a good and entertaining video, and this is no exception. It's her best video so far if you ask me.

Funny, around the internet, most regard it as her worst.
I love it though; but I love all things Tra$hbag$ha

Up to #2 for this week's update, and with the biggest bullet on the chart:
5 2 KE$HA Die Young 13143 10975 2168
This is going to be #1 next week, whether you like it or not. That will FINALLY put at end to Maroon 5's lengthy reign on top.

This song has reached #1 on Thanksgiving Day. How often does that happen?
3 1 KE$HA Die Young 14125 12213 1912
I have a feeling this will be another long-reigning #1 hit. The only song in the top 10 that poses a legitimate threat is "Locked Out Of Heaven," and even if that does reach #1 it won't be for several weeks.

Is -1077 really that big of a loss? I thought it happened on Pop all the time.

^Ohh, I got you. I was thinking yesterday about uncomfortable it is to play "Die Young" after what happened, but I wasn't expecting it to effect the song's airplay.
The only other time I know of something like this happened was after 9/11, when several songs on the rock charts plummeted because stations stopped spinning them.

Um, this is bullshit. I'm sorry kids died, but that isn't fair to punish Kesha for what other people did. If people are so sensitive to this, maybe they need to turn off pop radio and take a bullet themselves. Yes, the song is about dying young. But NOT LIKE THAT. Can you imagine what would have happened if that incident had taken place a few weeks back before this song peaked? What if Die Young was just being released now? I mean her album sales are already so low and she can't afford another blow. And C'Mon isn't even Top 40 on Radio yet. She's really going to suffer from this. Who's going to flop next because of this? The Band Perry? Are people going to ban Better Dig Two? This is such bullshit

Who's going to flop next because of this? The Band Perry? Are people going to ban Better Dig Two? This is such bullshit I disagree with this post on so many levels. First of all, nobody is being punished here. On rare occasions, a tragic event can make a song inappropriate to play on the radio and this is one of those times. The same thing happened to various rock songs after 9/11, including the song that was #1 on Alternative at that time ("Smooth Criminal" by Alien Ant Farm). While many of the songs that radio backed off on were questionable choices, for the most part they made a lot of sense. It's not right to play a song about bodies hitting the floor after countless people fell 70 stories to their deaths, and it's not right to play a song called "Die Young" after a bunch of babies were killed. And no, the song is not about dying young. Did you pay any attention at all to the lyrics? It's not bullshit...it's radio being responsible. I love edgy radio, but there is a fine line between edginess and ignorance. If I were programming a rock station, I'd temporarily stop playing such classics as "Shoot To Thrill" and "Shot Down In Flames" by AC/DC. Or for a more modern example, I'd avoid playing "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster The People. During my show on Friday, I played "School's Out" by Alice Cooper and midway through the song realized what a mistake I had made. I felt really bad about it, even if no one was listening.
