Yeah, her next album will most likely come out in the Summer of 2009. They'll release a SMASH brand new summer single in May/June 09, and the album will come out in July/August 09.
I can't wait...Rihanna has obviously found her direction. She can sing straight pop like 'Disturbia' or 'Don't Stop the Music' and score big hits, she can sing generic R & B/Urban stuff like 'Take a Bow' and hit big with it, and she can take risks like 'Umbrella' and score huge with it! This girl is on fire, and not even Beyonce is gonna stop her now. Poor Beyonce wanted to take a break til 09 but papa panicked and made her wrap that shit up quick! Rihanna will possibly be the Hot 100 artist of the decade if she can crank out at least 2 more Hot 100 top tens before the end of 09.

LMAO @ Umbrella being a "risk" you are so delusional Oh it was a risk...yeah the song is irresistible, but the reason why it was so sucessful was because it was a new production and basically set the standards for 07/08. While everyone was getting the same recycled stargate/timbaland/dr. luke crap, Rihanna delivered something new and fresh. The copycats didn't come til after 'Umbrella'.

I hate these slow +60 +70 daily updates...but i saw this coming. It WILL be harder for this to blow up because of 'Take a Bow'. When 'Take a Bow' was climbing the charts, 'Don't Stop the Music' had already plummeted. But i have faith in pop radio, and i know they will eventually make this one a hit. I just know it.

Yeah it was a new production, I don't see how thats a risk though. Radio will accept whatever Rihanna throws at them, its been proven. "We Ride" was her only flop because programmers demanded she release something else, and the label said no. Rihanna hasn't been able to choose a single since and I wonder why

If Rihanna goes Top Ten with 'Disturbia'...she will join Christina Aguilera, Paula Abdul, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Madonna as the only female artists EVER to have 10+ Top 40 hits.

Umbrella is a very risky song. It could have gone either way IMO and thank god it went the way that it did.

This will apparently be #1 on The Hot 100 I didn't get a chance to predict last week, but I suppose it kind of makes sense. I Kissed A Girl was always not the strongest #1 in point value (since its airplay wasn't that high relatively and it was more sales dependent). So I guess the timing was right for Disturbia
