Future cars probably won't have radios.

You honestly can't think of anything that will replace radios in the future?

All the cars right now are coming with iPod connectivity, so really, radio will be obsolete within 20-30 years.

Hold up with radio gone IMO it'll be really hard to break new artists (unless they all give out free downloads)

It would be cool if there was some program that could monitor how many times a song was played on your iPod and then that would make a chart. It would really be more accurate and no payola anymore.
They should do something like Last.fm and if you hook up your iPod to the program every week, it would make a chart. I think that would be cool.

anyone else agree that this is prolly the most like uncompetitve era in a LONG while on pop radio? It jus seem like every song that's gaining now is mediocre or average...idk... Yeah completely - there are almost no threads on pop I'm even that interested in...and the few I like aren't doin that much Which songs are those?

^Basically right now just She Is Love, Her Diamonds, Paranoid, If Today Was Your Last Day (trudging up chart), and Battlefield (actually lookin good) - Waking Up In Vegas is alright IMO, LoveGame was exciting the first couple times I heard it but that's about it
I'd def. like it if The Script or Cage The Elephant would start crossin over though (or any rap act that wasn't electronicized)
Also seems like Kelly and Pink keep puttin out pretty bland stuff IMO

I still don't understand why the US and Canada can't have their chart like the UK.

IND had a few good tunes but the singles were bland.

No way it will fade that fast. And P(A), I don't know what it's like over there in Nazi-land, but here in the USA we still listen to and like the radio. So maybe your country can do without it, but not here.

It doesn't seem crossover to me And that Script song is really generic and I can't see how it would stand out on pop radio at all. But then again, I guess that would follow the point of this thread of weak songs becoming hits. And I didn't even you even liked LoveGame that much

If it was sung by a hott female people wouldn't be callin it generic...guarantee they'd be sayin she was the next big thing
They'd kinda have to change the song title though

You're different, though. For the most part, I agree with atlantaboy (with the exception of those with really keen ears like LW).

LW's ears don't properly function though. They bypass the song completely and search endlessly for a melody.
