I really liked this group's last album because it was pretty unique. I feel like this song is more generic, but I still really enjoy it.

I feel like this is unique because the lead singer sounds like he suited for singing much lighter music (he sounds emo to me, lol). Yet the guitar in much of the song sounds like heavier mainstream rock.
What made their last album more unique? I hadn't heard of them until now.

It was very unique lyrically to me. A lot of the songs on the album were inspired by World War I & World War II. This one in particular: Personally, their first album was fantastic, and this song was a bit of a letdown for me. I haven't heard the rest of their newest album yet though, so I can't fully say if their first album was better or not.

That's pretty interesting that they wrote lyrics about the world wars. I always wondered why bands didn't write about that stuff more often. I listened to "Crippling Machine" and the lyrics are intriguing...though I don't fully get them.
I really don't like this guy's voice though. ;D

His voice is really emo-band-ish lol. It doesn't bother me much though.

I think that's why I don't like it much. He sounds like he should be singing lines like "she broke my heart; she broke it into pieces."
