The only time I thought Taylor looked attractive was in the "Our Song" video. I have never seen a hotter girl than Taylor in that video. My brain stopped working the first time I saw it.

#12 is a good peak (without being remixed). I knew this wouldn't go top 10 without one.

1.) It was remixed.
2.) It will be top 10 by the end of the weekend.

I don't think it would have made a big difference in either case though. The remix of Mine is the most similar of her remixes in comparasion to the original song.
I think the problem is that the hook isn't just strong enough for radio. It's much more subtle than You Belong To Me and Love Story. The song can grow on you over time, but it's not just immediate enough for pop radio.
If they really wanted to make a remix that could have a big impact, they should have made a pop remix that plays to the sensibilities of what does define modern pop right now. The remix already has some subtle electronic bass noise and pads going on. Why not emphasize those instead of the guitar? They're trying to make the song sound more rock in a time when things should be sounding more dance. If they're going to play the pop remix game, they might as well go all the way.

What are you talking about? The song has a decent bullet and will be top 10 on CHR by Sunday. It will probably peak around #7 or 8. That is awesome

They should have made the Mine remix something in the vein of this. It's funny how sometimes the people on youtube are much more in tune than the record executives who are supposed to be

POP- She'll peak probably in within the next week or so. Country- I say she has a good 3-5 weeks left. It's the most unpredictable chart. HOT AC & AC- I think she has @ least a month or so left

Yes, but I was obviously referring to the remix actually being released (which it hasn't been). Remixes are useless if they never see the light of day. I disagree completely. I think the song is strong enough melodically (though obviously not a "#1" type hook like "Love Story" or "You Belong With Me"). I think the production, more than anything, hinders the song from hitting harder. While I think the remix wasn't as good as it could have been, I do think it "charged up" the song a bit (which most certainly would have at least helped it chart within the top 10, especially considering it's so close now without the remix). May not be a "big difference" for some, but for me there's quite a difference between a top 10 and a top 15 peak (though either is respectable). Yikes. Taylor and dance? Two words that should never be put in the same sentence. lol I couldn't imagine Taylor being able to pull off a dance track.

May not be a "big difference" for some, but for me there's quite a difference between a top 10 and a top 15 peak (though either is respectable). But even if the remix was able to help it just break into The Top 10 isn't that still kind of aiming low? I feel like this may have potentially been the most important single of her pop career...being the 1st single of the follow up album to her pop breakthrough. In some ways its even more important than You Belong To Me and Love Story. Of course she needed those songs to actually have some standing on pop in the first place, but I think this would have sealed the deal and given her much more security on pop for the future. It seems like no other recent country singer has been able to get to that point, not even Shania or Faith. They've been like one album wonders on pop, and then they were unable to maintain that radio audience. Taylor could be in a similar predicament. So in that respect, I think she really needed that "#1 type hook" for this song especially. And the funny thing is, I feel Mine was somewhat close to that too. It just needed a few minor melodic changes and it could have possibly been on par (or at least much closer) to YBTM and LS's standards. Yikes. Taylor and dance? Two words that should never be put in the same sentence. lol I couldn't imagine Taylor being able to pull off a dance track. I think Taylor and dance could work! LOL Not that she would necessarily have to become the next Lady Gaga or anything, but I think she'd be able to work some electronic influences into her remixes successfully. I mean the Love Story remix already had kind of a dance-ish beat. Even the B-Section of the album version of Mine has the four on the floor feel to it. So at least we're already more accustomed to the percussive aspect of it. There are hard synths out there that could emulate the electric guitar in her music, and the pads could help take the place of the strings. So I don't think it seems as big of a stretch as it could have seemed on the surface. And generally speaking, she does seem like one of the more open minded and adventurous artists in the country industry. So I don't think she would be afraid to try new things. And with her current status, I think she's powerful enough at this point to get away with some of these remixes and not worry about immediate blacklisting Plus what about the You're Not Sorry CSI Remix? At least we have one bonafide song with electronic influences to base this on, and it's not just a discussion solely based in theory. Wasn't that generally well received? I think that showed that Taylor and electronic music can fuse together organically. (Unless you weren't a fan of that ) Really though, if Shania could do it more than 10 years ago with the remix of That Don't Impress Me Much, I think that in this dance climate of today, it'd be the right time for Taylor try something similar. And maybe it doesn't even have to be that extreme. Something more subtle like The Way You Love Me's remix (autotune and all ) could work too. Bottom line, I'd just like to see her incorporate some of these electronic elements to some extent somehow and I think it potentially be beneficial for her on the pop remix aspect of things
