There both HUGE hits, and there both 2nd singles off of huge albums. "In the Zone" was nowhere near a huge album commercially. She got outsold by "Stripped" "Dangerously In Love" and even Jessica Simpson during that time period That would be like saying "Circus" was a huge album, even though she got outsold by "The Fame" "Sasha Fierce" and Taylor Swift. Anyway, "Toxic" was instant for me on first listen and catches your attention faster, however "Poker Face" has a slower burn rate.

How much have those three albums sold nowadays compared to Circus?

Circus: 3.6 million Fearless: 4.8 million (90% of sales from US) IM...SF: 5 million (after 6 singles)

Bad Romance tops Toxic in my opinion!

LOL no offense Dean,
But you do know Christina is coming back with two albums and a movie in 2010 don't you? And even if Britney drops another album as soon as June, do you honestly think people are going to be more interested in hearing new Britney over new Christina? The Britneybot has been shoving music down our throats for two years. Christina has been on hiatus and will definitely get the bigger hype initially (how it will sell depends on her promo, and hits, and from the looks of it she's got Flo Rida and Tricky Stewart on board, which probably equals an automatic hit).
I wish Britney would take a year off, and try to regain her personality and her strengths. I honestly doubt they will release an album this Summer. They always tend to say that and then end up delaying it til the fall and that will most likely happen. I think they are just trying to keep her fans on board and not have them get side tracked by Gaga who i believe is the main reason why the Britney Machine is trying to slap together a quick album anyway. She is definitely stepping on her territory.

Britneys eras always get shafted I feel because she never releases enough singles But she always releases at least 4 except Blackout And back then for her first few albums, nobody released 5 and a lot of people didn't even get to 4.

And the album only sold like 225K copies. And please don't use the excuse "ohh it was only available at Target" becasue the eagles did the same thing and they sold LOADS of albums, and the same can be said for Miley. Trust me, she's not gonna be HUGE like she was back in 2002. KGB was a flop, and the back to flopics era was also a flop.

Well with Cher on board and it being released Thanksgiving weekend, there is no doubt it will outgross "Crossroads" which shouldn't be hard anyway Her Greatest Hits Album flopped? Then what do you call the Greatest hits album that Britney released two weeks ago that only sold a PATHETIC 25,000 copies the first week? And the truth is, if you wanna call "Back to Basics" a flop that's fine by me considering it slaughtered both "Circus" (3.5 million) and "Blackout" (2.5 million) in worldwide sales. So even Christina's biggest "flop" isn't as bad as two of Britney's REAL FLOPS. LOL! And again, keep calling "Keeps Gettin' Better" and "Candyman" flops, but the truth of the matter is, "Radar" "Gimme More" "Piece of Me" "Break the Ice," every single off of "Britney", and "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know" are all BIGGER FLOPS! Don't make me bring the flops out of Britney's closet, because there are plenty.

She is definitely stepping on her territory. you keep on saying this, yet Britney isn't going anywhere anytime soon. She's about to have a #1 hit on pop radio. Clearly, people aren't caring or choosing in this fan war between the two. Gaga can be successful, and so can Britney. Britney's not going anywhere just because one new popstar has shown up on the scene (which has happened all her career). And even if her fans get sidetracked by Gaga, they will still come back when she does, just like she did with "3", as that was huge after the massive flop that Radar was. I think people read too much into Gaga being a threat, and it's not like there can't be success between both of them instead of one having to "take over" and be more successful. I just think your way too hard on Britney, maybe it's me. It's like you want to see her fail

Don't make me bring the flops out of Britney's closet, because there are plenty. Anyone with an IQ of 10 could have told you that it was gonna flop I knew it would, it was too soon. And just becasue Cher is in the movie and it's being released on thanksgiving weekend doesn't mean it's gonna be a hit. And of course this will probably gonna gross more becasue obviously ticket prices have gone up since 2002. BTB was a flop, don't deny it. And how the hell can you bring up Blackout/Circus into the this? BTB was released in 2006 when the market was a hell of a lot stronger then what it is now. GM was a bigger hit then CM, it was also a bigger hit then KGB on the Hot 100 and also just cultural impact. "It's Britney Bitch". The Britney era was a flop when it came down tot he singles, even though "Slave" "flopped" on the charts in reality it's one of her biggest hits. Also "Britney" sold over 10 million copies with no hit singles while Stripped sold about the same with 4 hit singles. Also another reason why DLMBTLTK and the "Britney" singles flopped was becasue of the boycott by Clear Channel, but you'll probably choose not to believe it.

As if Britney's 2nd GH in 5 years was supposed to sell well? Have Christina release a 2nd GH after her next two albums, and we'll see how well it does.

The sad truth is, even with "Keeps Gettin' Better" only being a minimal hit, it still helped sell her greatest hits album way more than "3" did regardless. Lol you are so biased. You make it seem like "Back to Basics" was released ages ago compared to "Blackout" when it was just one year later! You can't deny that, and neither can you deny "Circus" weak worldwide sales. And the fact that Christina's CD was a double disc in 2006 when sales records were shitty, just makes it all the more impressive than what Britney did with "Blackout" and "Circus" in 2007/2008. Your argument with "Britney" selling just as much as "Stripped" without any hit singles can be used against you, because it's the same exact situation with "Back to Basics" doing better than "Circus" even though "Circus" had the bigger hits! LOL! And yes, sales in 2001 were A LOT stronger than they were in 2002/2003 which was the first year to really suffer from the 9/11 impact, yet Christina still impressed none the less. And lets not mention how "In the Zone" which was released in Late 2003 which was the only time this decade when sales rose again, still came nowhere near "Stripped" in sales. Yes Britney sold more records of course of this generation, but that's because she's released the most albums out of any female. If Christina and Beyonce were on album #6 right now their sales would be a lot similar to Britney's. In fact, if you were to remove the sales of Britney's first two albums, you'll see that 75% of her sales come from 25% of her career, which is kind of sad.

And i really did used to like her a lot, i really did. I still do, i consider her one of my top 5 artists even though she has not been on par for years. I am still easier on her because of her good history. For example, the last couple years, Rihanna rose up to my list making all the way to #3, and this album is just not as good, so she dropped passed Britney. I give Britney a lot more room to breath because she was a part of my childhood growing up in the late 90s/early 00s.

And as for the Gaga situation, by me saying that she is stepping on Britney's territory, it doesn't mean that i think Britney is flopping. I mean that Gaga is drawing the attention and has become the pop culture spectacle that Britney is failing to do. Instead Camp Britney is settling for silent hits, and average album sales. When did she take the Pink strategy? It's just not something i'm used to from Britney and i certainly never expected her "return to form" to be like this. It's not the music, it's not the videos, it's not the album that's the problem, it's HER herself. That fire is not there anymore. Where did it go?
Like i said before, i don't care if Britney is scoring hits, that was NEVER HER CUP OF TEA. She was more relevant during her "Britney" era when she couldn't score a hit if her life depended on it. The real Britney never needed hits, they were just always sort of the icing on the cake if she received them.
