Lol, ironically Cry is one of my favorite songs of all time, and probably my favorite Faith song. I still love the hell out of her, I hope she can have a big comeback,

Lol, I'm a huge fan, I love pretty much anything she puts out. But her recent stuff wasn't the greatest so I'm not surprised it flopped. Mississippi Girl + Fireflies + I Want You = LOVE.

The Pop Mix of this is a joke. It doesn't fit her vocals at all and it makes it sounds like she's trying to be a Heavy Metal star too.

Kind of sad that she's gonna have 2 Top 20 hits at Pop, maybe even a 3rd if PTB gets a pop mix, and Carrie has 1.
Carrie is better too.

I guess I can see why country fanatics would look down on her for releasing pop mixes, but clearly the public just loves Taylor...period. The pop mixes are barely selling, and the original versions of both TOMG and OS are both above 1 million, and TOMG is closing in on 2 million. So the pop mixes are kind of useless lol.

They have the pop version for TOMG, but it has never even gotten close to the top 100 songs lol.

Probably because it is a piece of....
The country versions of both songs TOMG and OS are both superior in quality (if thats possible for these songs) and so if the pop audience likes the song they hear on the radio, they are going to buy the song that they can find easier - in this case the country version.

It's not really hard to find it lol. You type in Taylor Swift and its there. I doubt anyone would buy a version of the song that sounds THAT different, if wasn't the version they wanted. My friend bought the original, even though they only play the pop version down here, because she thought it was better (which is true)
On another note, I don't really get how these pop versions are so "different" from country. I've heard a lot of songs that are "country" that sound just like the pop versions of TOMG and OS, so I don't really see what the big deal is.

I think its the fact that Taylor and her label actually "redid" her songs to fit pop, instead of sending pop the same version as country. If you think about it, it IS kinda like "here is the improved version that was changed so that you guys could play it, so please play it. the inferior country version isnt good enough".
i know it might sound stupid, oh well. i personally agree - sellouts and the like are pretty detestable to me

No, lol you're allowed to have your opinion, I was just kind of confused as to why people thought the way they did.
So if someone added a rap remix of their song to radio, would that be selling out in your opinion? I'm really just curious lol.

did "Tim McGraw" ever crossover to pop? I would think thats more pop-friendly than Teardrops/Our Song. They wouldnt even need to do a horrible pop mix.
TM was her only good song IMO

So if someone added a rap remix of their song to radio, would that be selling out in your opinion? I'm really just curious lol. What do you mean, a remix? If you mean a remix like Taylor does to her songs, then yes. that would be a sellout in my book. but if you mean a remix where an artist like mariah keeps her original song as one version but then in another adds a rapper like TPain and a slight new beat to go along with the original, i dont think that is selling out.. is that what you mean? ^Our station doesn't even play the pop mix lol. The Hot ACs do, though. I much prefer it! im really sorry (|)
