I can't believe I'm posting this but since Idol is over and done with, Press Releases's have been released concerning Mr Archuleta's deal and who he's working with.

He was signed to a 3 album deal with Jive and start working on his album Monday.

Ryan Tedder will be working with him. Jive already has Timbo+Danja signed on, Polow will be stepping into the studio, and The Matrix (of Avril Lavigne fame) will be working with him.

According to the release, he will be releasing his album in July and the single will drop within the last two weeks of June.


Ewww, why do I feel like he's going to be a BIG success and David Cook is going to disappear into nothingness.

Not if its good. Im sure theyre wanting to do it while hes still hot. Great albums can be made quickly or lengthy, just depends.

LOL! Guys, it really doesn't matter if its only a month. Several AI contestants have said that they didn't start recording their albums till after the tour was over. The tour usually ends in like Sept. Then they try and shove the album out in Nov. Not much of a difference. He can either start working on it now and do it before the tour, or he can wait till after the tour. Either way its only gonna be like a month anyways. LOL!

The tour is going to help him promote his album.

As of right now, Cook's album won't be out until November/December.

Britnasty, do you know other information about the release? I don't think Jive has any public announcement yet. What kind of album will David Archuleta make? Pop? R& B?

I heard that Jive usually has a bigger promotion budget than RCA. Don't know whether it is true.

I would believe it. They have Justin & Britney. Britney used to be a huge album seller, and she probably still could be. They do have some big named acts on that label though. The biggest acts on RCA are Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson & Christina Aguilera. None of which have been doing so great recently.

Daughtry is with RCA.
I doubt David Archuleta's release date will be in summmer. He will be still touring. If there is a release he need to go through all the promotion tour which he doesn't have time for.

Oh yeah, I forgot Daughtry was with RCA. I thought of them after I posted. lol But I wasn't sure if they were with RCA or not.

Also, the only Idol to get a TON of promotion was Katharine McPhee. She was a runner-up and she had a lot of promo. She was on like every morning show, magazine and whatever. lol You name it, she was on it promoting. Too bad no one cared. :( LOL!

I've seen this news, but it only mentioned Cook, not Archuleta. Not sure where you get that part?
